I’ll start off by saying the times I have visited, the service has been okay; however, the atmosphere here is overbearingly hot. They definitely do not have air conditioning and just have a fan or two around the establishment. Tonight, two and a half hours before closing, the host was shouting that they were no longer seating people. With all the signage they already have, you’d think someone would’ve given that sort of indication before coming in. That way, customers could call in a takeout order (since those were still being taken over the phone) and not be disappointed upon walking in. Overall, good food with an underwhelming experience due to their staff and atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and get it to go.

1st time visiting Pier 88
First an appetizer we got the 88 Special where you get to choose 4 items. Unfortunately out of the 4 items only the fried pickles had any flavor. The calamari was really rubbery. HOWEVER, the seafood boil bag of crab legs, corn, potatoes, and headless shrimp made up for the appetizer shortfall!!! Great portions and was fres!!

We sat for about 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. Told the server (Damaris) we could go ahead and order since we waited so long. She didn’t seem to care or even offer a reason as to why we waited when there were maybe 5 other tables seated in the restaurant.
We got our appetizers and the calamari was overcooked and rubbery.
When we got our low country boil they were great!
Asked the server for sauces and utensils since she did not bring us any. She did not bring cocktail sauce and she brings us 2 dirty pair of scissors and says you can use this for the crab (we are out of crackers) How are you out of crackers when there are 5 seated tables????? No explanation. And our bill was near $100 without tip.
Very disappointing when we come to this location for date nights, birthdays, etc.
We will be looking for somewhere else to go now.

We came during the lunch hour. The fried oysters and shrimp were very fresh with no funky seasonings. The ice tea/sweet tea was excellent as well. We waitied for our food for the appropriate amount of time considering everything is cooked fresh. There is a lunch menu for those who aren’t that hungry. We opted for the regular menu. Very clean place. Very simple. There is a full bar.

This particular experience was NOT good. I called twice because the first voice I got wasn’t friendly.
I expected what I got the last time I ate there.
So, I asked for a boil with out the crab. It was extremely bland. No flavoring at all. Everything seemed to be prepared/boiled in water and the sauce was poured into it after.

I had heard good things, but ultimately was horribly upset with the quality of food, service and atmosphere. Wanted to take my girlfriend out for a lovely Valentine’s Day and saw that they had seafood boils. Having family from the coast I know what a good seafood boil is. We we should’ve left from the start we’re told that it would be 30 minutes wait and then ended up waiting an hour by that time I was pretty hungry. So we sit down in between two families of screaming kids. We got two appetizers and a seafood boil. The appetizers were atrocious: had the calamari and wings. The wings were dry. The calamari flavorless. The special sauce to dip the calamari all I could taste vinegar. NOT GOOD!!!!!, Then the seafood boil came out. We were given a bucket, bibs, and plenty of gloves. That was the best thing going for it. There were no crackers for even cracking the legs, we were given a PAIR OF SCISSORS. No metal silverware, only plastic sporks. The boil itself was told by the server the 88 special is the best tasting seasoning. Boy they were wrong! Came out with six individual legs, two lobsters, two little russet potatoes and 2 half ears of corn, and about 20 shrimp.

Delicious Seafood Boils and Great Vibes!
Pier 88 Seafood & Bar did not disappoint! We ordered their seafood boils, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The portions were generous, and the sauce had just the right amount of spice, messy in the best way!

The atmosphere was lively and relaxed, with great music and friendly service that made the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a fun, satisfying meal, this place is definitely worth a visit. We’ll be back for more!

I’ve been here a few times throughout the years (first visit in 2020) and have not had a bad experience yet. The food has always been hot and fresh and we have never had issues with service or getting drinks topped off. We always leave full or with leftovers.

Usually not too busy, even around dinner time. Prices vary between visits due to market prices but average $27-30 for the low country boil in July 2024.

i felt awful for our poor server. idk why the sections are so big or if they have some kind of “no wait until were absolutely full” policy but she mustve been sat with like 5 tables at once. due to this service was terrible!!! i would much rather have waited 20 minutes to eat then sit at the table and only be talked to every 20 minutes… food was ok but not worth the price imo
