Came in for some crab and shrimp. We usually go to the Angry Crab but the last time we went there it was bad. Was time to try a different place. Pier 88 is only a few more miles into town and definitely was worth the try.

This was our very first time eating at Pier 88 and our very first seafood boil experience ever. We went in a larger group to celebrate a couple of birthdays, and this place was able to accommodate our group of 18. Half adults and half children. First off, the hosts were nice, and the restaurant looked very clean. The food was surprisingly amazing. The flavor was so good. My wife and I split a famous low country boil with medium 88 special seasoning. For about 30 bucks. We absolutely devoured it and were left extremely satisfied. Our oldest ordered the fried catfish basket, and he loved it. The fish itself was delicious, and the fries were great. Our two youngest got the chicken tenders basket, and they loved it. Our only downside was that the service wasn’t that great. We were there for about an hour, and our waitress only came back to our table for refills like twice even though the place wasn’t even that busy. Our overall experience was great, and we will definitely be returning!

The food was excellent but the staff are not ambitious, courteous or attentive. They seem more interested in speaking to one another. And the main reason I have it 2 stars is because they don’t have wheelchair accessible doors and the staff sat and watched as my family member who is in a wheelchair struggle to get out by himself and not 1 single person of the 5 standing by the door offered to help. Wow!!

Tried this place because it was closer than our normal spot. Ordered a pound of snow crab and sausage. Food came out before we could finish our fried calamari appetizer. Calamari was good, lacked a little seasoning, but the cocktail sauce and lemon made it all better. The snow crab was great! I got straight garlic butter, added a little salt and pepper. No complaints. My wife got the pier 88 flavor in medium heat and that was really good. Did not need to add anything. The crab was cooked perfectly. Service was great, our waitress was(I think) Joon, she was attentive and never ran out of our drinks. Highly recommend, we will definitely be going back.

So my last seafood boil was in Tampa Florida so I was comparing this to that and it just wasn’t fair. However,

The service was good. The food was hot and tasted fresh. Wings where a little salty for me but then again they where lemon pepper dry rub. So need to remember not to order that kind of sauce again but the wings where a nice size. The catfish basket was a nice size too I will stop by here again

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We got the low country boil and tilapia fish and chips, as well as raw oysters. No complaints about the food!

First time here. Delicious food. Seasoning tasted different than other crab boil restaurants (Angry Crab, Hot N Juicy). Not bad by any means, just different. Heavier on the rosemary I think? Their fried batter is delicious. Sometimes fried shrimp or fried food is too oily, greasy or soggy. This was perfect. I wish they had sweet tea, but other than that I’m glad we decided to try this spot!
