Best pesto pizza I have ever had! One massive slice is plenty. Have been there twice with two different friends and it’s unanimous = BEST PIZZA IN SAC! Met the owner Jackie who has been throwing pies there for 33 years-ask her for a few feta crumbles to try with the pesto. Don’t go expecting fancy decor though….CASH ONLY

We really enjoyed this place. Needed a good slice before a show. The gentleman working the kitchen put out fresh pizza. Pepperoni was great, almost a new York style. The crust is rolled over the sauce/cheese, which adds a great level of flavor when you get to the crust. Almost like stuffed crust, but not gimmicky. He even gave us samples of his pesto pizza, which were really good. I particularly enjoyed the pesto, sundried tomatoes, and feta cheese pizza sample that he gave us (for free!). This is my by the slice spot when I’m in the area.

My pal Chug Martin and his gal Little Sipper just moved to Sactown from Chitown because they’re tired of hearing gunshots all night long! Yeah, I never liked Chicago either, I told him as we walked over to Pieces, the Pizza by the Slice joint. Being just 6 blocks away from Pieces, I think Chug and his little stab are going to eat at Pieces 3 or 4 times a week, because they can’t get enough of this skinny pizza as they call it..they’re used to Chicago style fat pizza.

I have been coming here since I moved to Sacramento in 2000. I don’t live in Sac anymore but make the 2 hour trip from my current town to have pizza. Can’t go wrong here! Cash only but cash is king!

Holy cow! This pizza was sooooo good! I don’t know what magic they use to get the pizza dough so crispy and soft at the same time. The cheese has an excellent bite and has a great flavor. If you like garlic I’d highly recommend adding it. Soo good! Definitely will be back!

Was in a hurry when I got to the store… But when I got in line and I saw that there was ONE SINGLE SOLITARY man making all the pies and maning the register by himself… I didn’t have the heart to do anything but patiently wait.
EVERYONE FELT BAD FOR HIM.
So we all patiently waited for him to finish making our pies or heat our slices.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT.
I did not know that when I got there but a really cool guy in line let me cash app him some $$ and he paid for my food.
Atmosphere was awesome considering there could have been a lot of angry people but we were all human beings recognize the situation for what it was. And hey… The pizza is great !!

Well let me just start off with this was not a planned stop. Me and my friend decided on our way to the car lets grab a slice of pizza, and let me just say this was the stop we desperately needed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly smile and a welcoming voice (jackie) something about this women turned my day from average to spectacular. She was so kind and helpful. She offered us everything and more. Even let is try a new experiment she’s been holding on to. Chocolate and pizza. Which surprisingly blew our minds, it was delicious. All while Tony was in the back whipping up fresh hot pizzas. Thank you for the experience. Will definitely come back again not only for the pizza but for the lovely people behind it all. Thank you

I decided to check out Pieces and was pleasantly surprised. Such a cute mom n pop style pizza place. It gave 90’s vibes. The staff was helpful and straightforward. The slices are big and filling. They only take cash and $10 a slice. Pricey but worth it. They have $1 can sodas.

Walked in here on my way back home and omg let me tell you how amazing the vibes I received. From the greeting to service is heartfelt, this place has been here for 30 years!! I got to enjoy a mushroom pizza highly recommended, and for a quick bite! Crust is perfectly toasted I will definitely be back!! FYI cash only, a slice is $5
