Can someone please sponsor this restaurant and invest in experienced cooks and food quality. The only reason I’m writing the review is because the food is not good enough to be $33.00 for two people. We should get what we pay for and that’s not the case, the apples in the fruit is brown, the pinto beans aren’t soft and under cooked, if this restaurant was $10.99 I wouldn’t have said anything but this restaurant need help bad.

Food was decent. Only a few things stood out like the Mexican Lasagna, Cayfish and Liver and Onions, those 3 dishes were really good. The sides were pretty good. The baked potatoes wedges were stale and old, and the BBQ wings had a fishy taste to them, I think they cooked them same place after cooking some fish. They have just about everything Western Sizzlin did, carrot salad, fruit salad mix, but I didn’t see any fried corn bites. The Cobbler was very good, the cobbler was another stand out. We caught them during happy hour so it was only 10.99, but I would not be happy if it was full price at 14 or 15 dollars, they would have to have some bomb BBQ wings like Sizzling used to have and fresh potatoes wedges. Staff was very nice.

Early bird buffet was $10.50. Large selection of food. Roast was good, chili was great, brisket was overcooked and soupy. Take somebody with you, I went solo and went to use restroom, when I got back, my table had been cleared away.

Pickles Steak House has gone through several name changes over the years, though its menu has remained largely the same (aside from rising prices). When it first opened in the late 1970s, it was called Western Sizzlin. After a couple of decades, it became Mackie McNear’s, and more recently, it took on its current name, Pickles Steak House. I’ve been a semi-regular customer throughout its nearly 45-year history.
I dined there tonight and noticed they’ve made some updates, but the essence remains unchanged. It’s still a classic old-school steakhouse, complete with a salad bar—a rare find these days.
The food was as good as ever, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and portions. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend visiting Pickles Steak House while you can. It’s a nostalgic gem from a bygone era.

All of the food here is absolutely terrible, the waitress who was helping us was nice but no other servers were doing anything for the customers. I ended up eating the chicken and the baked potato, the baked potato was overcooked but bearable and the chicken only had flavor in the breading. The Mac n cheese didn’t even taste like cheese, I will not be coming here again sorry.

Most of the food doesn’t taste good and the stuff that is edible is really bland. Salad bar is great. Service is all right, they’ll stop by every now and then help you. Mostly because every time I have gone its been mostly empty. The atmosphere half dinning room/ dinner vibes depending on where you sit.

The former Western Sizzlin’ is still amazing. Variety is flavorful with friendly service. Take note they did reduce their hours for best service.

This is a 16 dollar buffet that is not worth it. I came at dinner time the baked chicke was dry the fried chicken was dry. You could tell the shrimp was sitting for awhile. Management said it would be 25 min for more chicken its a buffet everything should already be made especially at dinner time!

Food was okay. Salad and dessert bar were the best. The people were wonderful! And their high chairs are awesome as we were traveling without my husband so I could roll my toddler around in the high chair.
