Fun place we stopped at along the drive from Jersey City to Chantilly, VA. Theming seemed random until I saw the sign above the toilet in the men’s room, and then it all came together. We had a veggie burger, fried pickles, and fries with melted cheese and spicy banana peppers. Food and service were very good. I feel lucky we found this place.

Adorable smalltown spot with great burgers and simple fun food.

Seating is tight. Can’t recommend for large parties. Seating is pretty close together, and most seating sits max of 4.

Service is simple and personal. Usually only one person behind the desk who handles everything but the cooking, so treat them nice

Food was great though, nice juicy burgers, fries are hand cut there in house, not prefrozen crap. They also offer an impressive selection of specialty burgers and sides.

Will be happy to go again.

My first visit: I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the bacon, cheese and ranch fries. Both were excellent. These are the best french fries I’ve ever had. The y have just the right crunch on the outside but soft inside. The chocolate peanut butter milkshake was also very good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the building/room we ate in. It needs a little updating and it was so cold I had to eat with my coat on the whole time.

Edit: We’ve eaten here 2 more times since the initial visit. We havent been disappointed yet. The black raspberry milkshake is my favorite!

Dang good burger. I can’t believe how thick it was. These days, places have been making smaller burgers. Not this place.

The place was pretty busy on a Saturday. There was still plenty of seating.

Oh, and how could you not love a place called “Pickle Nickle.”

Food was acceptable and service was fine. This was a very small establishment in an older converted house. The food was freshly prepared and had good flavor. The service was a little rushed as there was only one person waiting on the dozen or so tables.
The milkshake was excellent. Nice and creamy and well blended so the flavors were even throughout.
The Taco Salad was a generous portion with fresh crisp vegies with a sprinkling of a very few tortilla chips like croutons. The meat was a sliced burger patty that didn’t taste like it had any taco seasoning to it, just plain. There was a generous amount of taco sauce, salsa, and sour cream, but the salad did not have any of the typical taco salad components like rice, beans, guac, etc.
Josh’s Taco Fries were nice and hot thick cut, skin on, fries. It was a generous portion of fries but only had a pretty meager dollop of chili (no taco seasoning), sprinkling of lettuce, and smidge of cheese sauce. After getting through the first layer, which ate up all the toppings, I had to use ketchup on the rest.
We heard a lot of people commenting positively about the smash burger options, which did look appealing on the menu, so maybe that would be a better try.

Irritation factor: this old house needs the floors supported. Just the waiter walking around had our seats and table rocking like the high seas.

Great little diner in Dillsburg PA. Had the Dillsburger, 4oz. I would recommend the 8 Oz and could use a little more dressing. Great flavor in the meat and really friendly service. Highly recommend.

Somehow I’ve lived in Dillsburg and have never made it to the Pickle Nickel until yesterday! It was delicious and I can’t believe I didn’t visit sooner. The french fries were especially good. I got the bacon cheddar ranch fries along with my burger and after writing this review, I want to go get more.

Also, the milkshakes are delicious! Make sure you grab one along with your meal.

I wasn’t expecting much, just a nice lunch for my day out. I walk in, I was hit in the face with this fabulous small restaurant. I order food. Its seems alright i order a soda, i recived a bottled one, but dont be deceived. A nice 30 min wait with nice chairs was worth it. The food all of it super hot. So fresh. I coulda sworn I was dreaming the burger was so fresh crispy on the edges so good. I dream of the day I return. The highest quality food ive ever gotten for under $20. Makes all the chain restaurants like chilis and cracker barrel are a joke. This place is a hit.
