Tiny and unassuming, this spot serves up amazingly authentic Italian fare reminiscent of my visits to my grandmother’s house. We enjoyed the risotto, pappardelle with short rib ragù, and toasted wheat pasta with duck ragù. Apps were the bruschetta, and buffalo mozz with butternut squash. Great wines, and for dessert we enjoyed the chocolate cake. Yum!

Enjoyed the rigatoni eggplant very much. The roasted butternut squash ravioli was also very good. Great service. Charming atmosphere. The shredded brussel sprouts appetizer was unexciting. Overall would return!

Cozy, lively, warm and comfortable. Great comfort food with some nice modern touches. Just enough to be worth leaving home – to feel like you’ve come home. Perfect neighborhood spot. Enjoy.

I had such an amazing experience here. I came here after work for dinner with some coworkers. There was a bit of a wait to be seated for reservation because it seemed never very busy. The waitress / host was very friendly and accommodating though. She sat us down as soon as she could. Although there was a wait after that she came back apologized overall I thought the customer service was still 10 and 10. The place seemed very busy which is a good sign, I thought it meant the food was really good. I was right.

We asked for recommendation for appetizers and she recommended the tomato mozzarella dish, the grilled calamari, and the prosciutto fig jam bruschetta dish. Oh my god we’re all three of these so delicious!!!! 10 out of 10 for appetizers.

We all got different entrees. I went with the seafood risotto which was absolutely fantastic. It was missing a bit of a spice but that’s okay, personal preference. Another person came out and put fresh pepper and cheese on our food, that was nice. I also got lychee Martini which was amazing.

We ended the night by getting the olive oil cake and the lemon cake. Both were phenomenal. Overall I really love this place. I would definitely return

Excellent all around. Reservations are a must. Food was beyond tasty. We enjoyed a salad as our starter and had pasta as my entree. Service was A+. Atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Prices are very fair.
Highly recommend. Thanks for a great evening!

used to frequent this spot before COVID and finally made a return visit—and I’m so glad I did! Surprisingly, my waiter, German, still remembered my usual order by heart, which was such a nice touch. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere remains just as warm and inviting as I remembered.

I had the Caesar salad and the Branzino al Cartoccio, both fresh and full of flavor. Paired with a refreshing cucumber martini, it was the perfect meal. This place continues to be a hidden gem with great food and outstanding service. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Tucked away on the corner of 14th and 6th, Piccoli Trattoria quietly transported me back to Italy. From the atmosphere to the food, everything felt like a fleeting Roman holiday — minus the airfare. I sat outside with my dogs (off-leash and content), and no one batted an eye. That alone tells you the kind of place this is.

The service was welcoming without being pushy. We started with the fig jam, prosciutto di Parma & gorgonzola bruschetta — flavorful and well-balanced, though the gorgonzola slightly overpowered the rest. Still delicious.

The main was a squid ink linguine with clams, part of their specials menu — rich, briny, deeply satisfying. If you like seafood, this one hits.

Dessert was a highlight. I went with what I believe was the torta d’olio (olive oil cake with orange zest and crème anglaise). Moist, light, elegant — honestly one of the best desserts I’ve had locally.

The espresso was strong, the espresso martini even stronger. I joked with the waiter that I’m an American who loves Italy, so naturally I had both. He laughed and said that was the right answer.

Overall: great food, better ambiance, and the kind of neighborhood gem that feels just a little magical — especially when the dogs are happy, the wine is flowing, and the city slows down for a moment.

Highly recommended.

We went here this evening; hadn’t been to eat here in years. Definitely pleased by the food and service. We shared a polenta appetizer with mushrooms and sauce, which was delicious. My ravioli of cheese and butternut squash was excellent. Husband enjoyed his chicken dish.

Oh man, I really wanted to like Piccoli. Let’s start with the good: the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming. I really liked the decor. The artwork and black & white photos were charming. The pricing was also reasonable. Unfortunately, I did not feel like the food was up to scratch. I had the prosciutto, cheese, and pear antipasta to start. The prosciutto tasted old and slightly dried out, the pears were unripe, and the whole thing was strangely drenched in balsamic which drowned out the other flavors. For my main, I decided to try the chicken parm brunch special with salad. For some reason the bread for the chicken parm was completely burnt on both sides from the grill. Grill marks can add a nice smoky flavor to a sandwich, but not when all of the bread is burnt. Unfortunately the whole sandwich tasted like burnt grill, and I could barely taste the chicken in the sandwich. The salad was absolutely drenched in oil to the point of the arugula being slimy even though the greens seemed fresh. Overall, the food was a 3.5/10 for me, even though the service and atmosphere were great.

Alex our server was great … so friendly and accommodating . I had the cheese raviolis with the black Olive red sauce; amazing!
I shared( sort of) the semifredo with cocoa dust on the top and hazelnuts. Could you have that on the dessert menu when I come back on December 16th ? We have a reservation for 4 people @6:15pm.
Thank you again for a lovely evening!
