Amazing Peruvian food and excellent service.

We ordered Desayuno de Lurín and Adobo Arequipeño, and both dishes were delicious. The flavors were authentic, the portions were generous, and everything was served fresh. The customer service was outstanding. One of the waitresses is from Arequipa, and she was incredibly kind and polite, which made the experience even better.

This was our first visit to Picantería El Picarón, and we were very impressed. They also have ceviches and other traditional Peruvian dishes that look amazing.

We highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Peruvian cuisine. Great food, great service, and a very welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

After walking out from Picantería El Picarón, I honestly have no words to express how happy and satisfied I was with the delicious flavors of this restaurant. I ordered the Lomo Saltado, and it was absolutely amazing , all the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the beef was cooked just right. Everything was on point! If you’re looking for high-quality food at a great price, I highly recommend coming here. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

This is my family’s favorite Peruvian restaurant for family dinners, and for good reason! The food is simply incredible—every dish is packed with flavor and has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel so good. You can really taste the passion and care that goes into every plate. The owners are the best; they always greet us and make us feel like part of the family. As you can tell the Ceviches are always my go-to, it’s amazing!

Excellent peruvian food. Food is fresh and delicious. We ordered the ceviche (good portion and fresh), sopa criolla (beef homemade soup) , chupe de camarones (shrimp chowder) and parihuela (fish stew). Everything was great, they also have special on Sundays and good desserts like picarones (sweet potato doughnut).

Nice little gem in Wheaton run by a family from Arequipa, Peru, who took over a (former) Chinese restaurant but now feature Peruvian food. You can tell the woks were put to good use. Lomo Saltado was excellent and featured fresh cut fries. Arroz con Mariscos was super creamy and topped with fresh seafood. We also tried to Tiradito de Pescado, with its thinly slices fish and spicy yellow tiradito sauce. No alcohol license yet but that’s coming. We came on a quiet weeknight but they said it’s happening especially on Sundays. They even serve cuy on weekends.

We were sad to see Wong Gee go but knew we had to try the new Peruvian place that moved in. We were not disappointed. The service was prompt and the food was fantastic. We got huancaina and ceviche for appetizers, chicha marada for drinks, and they had lucuma and cherimoya ice cream for dessert that we couldn’t pass up. The entree portions were very generous. All that with a ~25% tip came out to about $50-60 per person. The one Peruvian native in our group assured us the food tasted authentic. This is a budding minority owned small business that deserves your time and money and you won’t regret it. I hope they get a website soon with the menu online. This should help them with outreach.
