Stopped in for a business dinner during the first week of December 2025. The place wasn’t too crowded on a Tuesday evening.
We had meatballs, margarita pizza, bread, octopus, and mozzarella balls for appetizers.
Very typical Italian food, all tasted as expected. Service was decent. Atmosphere was nice with elegant touches.

We recently hosted a Harvard Club of New Jersey event at Piattino, and it could not have gone better. From the start, the team was incredibly accommodating and made the planning process seamless. The food was absolutely delicious, the service attentive and professional, and the atmosphere of the space created the perfect backdrop for our gathering.
A special thank-you to Nellie, who took such great care of us throughout the evening. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality truly made the event feel effortless. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time, and we’re so grateful to the whole team at Piattino for helping us create such a memorable night. I have frequently gone to this restaurant whenever I want nice Italian food and a comfortable atmosphere. Piattino is usually easy to reserve, and is perfect for all ages and occasions. I have found some foods that really stood out to me, and others that were pretty generic. In terms of the service, it usually takes at least 20 minutes to begin getting food so don’t enter this restaurant too hungry!
Piattino Wings – these came nicely spiced and the sauce on the side was good. It comes with a good portion for 3-4 people.
Minestrone Soup – this soup is perfect for cozy days. I found that it tasted more like tomato soup, but the croutons added a nice touch.
Roasted Salmon Salad – I couldn’t really figure out how to feel about this salad. The strawberries and salmon are two flavors that should never be mixed.
Margherita Pizza – this pizza is wood fired and thin, so it is not too heavy. The flavors are good and the cheese is nice and warm. I found it a little salty though.
Bianco Truffled Carbonara – This is hands down one of the best dishes I have ever tried. The mix of the truffle sauce, parmesan, and bacon bits adds a great flavor to the pasta. The only thing I would change about the dish, is remove the peas :).
Spicy Calabrian Vodka Pasta – this pasta is a bit spicy and not too heavy, so I would recommend it.
Open Faced Crab Ravioli – I was really looking forward to this dish, and definitely did not excite what it actually was. It is basically one giant triangle shaped ravioli filled with crab, corn, and mushrooms. The cheese sauce is nice but needed a bit of salt. This is definitely a unique one!
Neapolitan Chicken Parmigiano – The chicken is nice and fried, so it has a good flavor. The pasta on the side has a hint of olive oil and lemon flavor which was good.
Pan Roasted Salmon – This is nice and crispy, and has a good flavor. It comes with the salad which I did not enjoy.
Chocolate Crunch Bar – this is very sweet, but has an amazing flavor. It tastes like a giant twix bar. First you get the fudgy chocolate, then the caramel, and then the crunch at the bottom. Definitely recommend!

This is our go-to Italian place around town. Food is always fresh and delicious. Priced very reasonably. Our kids love the kids pizza and pasta very much! Spacious dining room and never had issue getting a table!

Great Italian restaurant opposite the train station. Nice menu with a good mix of dishes. Street parking can be rough but there are municipal lots/garages within a few block walk.

I really wanted to love this place, because the pasta was good. But we came in for an early dinner on Valentine’s day so the staff was super busy preparing for the evening and just sort of checked on us whenever they had a chance and it was never one specific person it was just whoever was available.

In all of Summit and the area that offers a great night out, Piattino is a standout. It starts when you walk in and are greeted by the friendly staff and then smell the intoxicating aromas of the classic Italian kitchen (try the pizza and pasta!). The staff are eager to introduce themselves, my favorites are Joanna, Nelly, Anthony and Todd. It’s a special place in a special town. I highly recommend Piattino

I really liked, I thought that it would be just another Italian restaurant, but I got surprised with the food. The place is very nice too and the service is kind and friendly. Definitely reservation is recommended for dinner. I want to come back to try the desserts because I think they should be really good.

A nice casual place with decent food. Nothing special but we wanted to try a new restaurant. I wouldn’t rush back but we had a nice relaxing dinner. Chicken Parm was good, the meatball appetizer was okay. It’s a limited menu but they also have a specials menu. Their pizza looked good and steak frites were a hit. It’s more expensive than it should be but not unreasonable. The atmosphere is good and overall their service was good.
