Our visit to Phuket On Providence in Huntsville was wonderful once again. My wife enjoyed the wonton soup and Nam Tuk Beef while I savored the Tom Yum seafood, and every bite was full of flavor. The server was incredibly friendly and made our meal even more enjoyable. This place never disappoints. Can’t wait to go back again!

Last night we enjoyed another amazing visit at Phuket On Providence in Huntsville. One order was Tom Kha spicy Coconut Soup with Tom Yum Chicken Soup & Thai Pot Sticker, while I chose the Kao Soi. Every dish tasted rich and fresh, and the server was truly kind and attentive. The overall vibe, food, and service made the evening memorable. We are excited to visit once more.

I’ve eaten here three times and I can say this food has the most unique flavor profile of all ethnic groups. Each thing I’ve eaten has combined sour, savory, and sweetness all alongside a slight kick or spiciness. Be sure to savor the food, allowing your body to process it appropriately- this food is an experience for sure. The service was exceptional as was the amazing atmosphere.

In Huntsville, Alabama for a week. Phuket Thai Restaurant was conveniently located across the street from my hotel in a nice area. I love Thai food and I’ve been to Bangkok, Thailand more times than I can remember and Phuket once! No brainer, right! I used due diligence; the waitress was even Thai. Except, we are in Alabama, not Thailand. I ordered the jungle curry and a side of steamed rice. The chicken was tough…. Tough because it was obviously pre-cooked, frozen, and then rapid-thawed and heated up for my dinner. The curry was totally wrong. It was watery. Trying to skimp on the curry ingredients to stretch profits? Real curry should be much thicker. The steamed rice was wrong too, was not made in a rice cooker. What a let-down. As much as I hate to do this, I had to return the plate and leave. What a let-down because I actually thought it might have been authentic. For the typical Alabama local and other visiting Americans, they might be impressed; but if you know, you know, and this is NOT authentic. This is the reason you see such disparity in their Google review ratings. Some people think it is incredible and give 5 stars; others 2-star it. 5-star people, it’s not your fault, but you just don’t know.

Better than I remembered!

I moved away about ten years ago and made sure this was the first place I ate when I came back this week.
The atmosphere was quiet but friendly, and the staff were affable and welcoming. This was exactly how I remembered.

Then it got better. I ordered what looked like my old favorite, but it wasn’t what I remembered. It was better. Pad Thai Seafood was the perfect portion size, filled with flavor, and cooked to perfection. I had a Chicken Satay appetizer, which was delivered quickly, fresh, flavorful, and juicy. The peanut sauce and Thai cucumber salad were a perfect accompaniment to this dish.

My only complaint is i can’t eat here more often. But i am glad I always have a place to look forward to when visiting.

Worst and most expensive Thai I’ve ever had.

Drunken Noodles: Burnt. Heat so hot it caused the cooking oil to taste like resin. Not much flavor otherwise.

Rice Custard: Scrambled eggs and maple syrup over plain white rice. Sucked.

Tom Kha: No red curry added. No taste of galangal root or any other flavors. Pretty sure they just poured coconut milk over miso soup and tried to dupe me. The coconut milk didn’t even emulsify to the miso soup. The chicken wasn’t seared or velveted and was dry chewy chicken breast with no flavor at all, not chicken thigh which is more resistant to the effects of unskilled cooks.

This place costs 10-15 dollars more than other Thai places, yet offers literally nothing extra for the cost and tastes worse to boot. You’re paying for the rent cost of Providence and nothing else.

Avoid Phucket. Go to Banana Leaves instead.

Food was good, but not great. Beef massaman was sweet. Seafood pad Thai had a great amount of seafood. Summer rolls lacking flavor- needed basil.

The food was okay. My dish was a little salty and somewhat disappointing if I’m honest. Our server was super nice. The appetizers were yummy. We had shrimp Rangoon and spring rolls. Very yummy! My friend got a curry and she really loved it.

Fantastic lunch Masaman Chicken Curry. Spicy at my request, but not melt-your-face-off. Good portioms. Lunch matched the food reviews I’ve heard from others. Quick service during mid-day work break. Stylish atmosphere. Great Thai food in Huntsville.

I had the chance to sample several dishes including Pad See Ew, Chicken Pad Thai, and Masaman chicken curry, and each one was packed with rich flavor and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the Kao Soi and could not stop talking about how good it was. Everything we tried felt authentic and satisfying, making the whole meal a great experience.
