While driving down Brookhurst St, I spotted a banner for $8.25 pho at Pho Vinh Ky II and couldn’t resist dropping in. It was a cold, rainy day, and I was craving a hot bowl of noodle soup. Given the price, I kept my expectations realistic—I wasn’t looking for the best pho of my life, just a decent, filling meal to hit the spot.

They offer two sizes: a regular for $8.25 and a large for $10.25. Hungry and seeking warmth, I went for the large, which is still an unbeatable value in today’s market.

The Broth: It was good and hit the right notes for a standard bowl, though it felt a little thin. It lacked that deep, aromatic complexity you get from higher-end spots, but it was still flavorful enough to enjoy.

The Noodles: I was impressed with the portion size. The noodles were perfectly cooked—not too hard and not mushy.

The Meats: The bowl came with a generous mix of brisket, tendon, and tripe. While the quality wasn’t top-tier and the meat didn’t taste quite as fresh as it could have been, the portions were more than adequate for the price.

Overall: This bowl was exactly what I needed for a rainy day. It was incredibly satisfying, even if the flavor was leaning a bit on the simpler side.

At the end of the day, the value here is great. I did find myself wondering: was it actually that good, or did the cold rain just make everything taste better? I’ll have to come back during the summer to find out—or just wait for another rainy day to pray for that extra bit of “flavor.”

Small bowl of pho is $8.25 ( big one $10.25, full menu price as of Aug 25’ attached below) so price is unbeatable in todays climate! Pretty decent portion with lots of meat and they have the big size pho noodle ( which i prefer more than the small one). Broth is alright not the most flavorful, i think the other location of theirs does it a bit better than this one. A bit too much msg i think we got pretty thirsty eating it. They gave lots of basil and bean sprouts so thats good.
It opens pretty late, large interior, good service even when we went pretty late at 2am.
Overall is a steal for the price u get. Hope they improve the soup broth a bit more would be great! 6.5/10.

The noodles are cooked perfectly, chewy with a slight bounce, the broth is more flavorful than the usual, which makes every bite of the perfectly cooked noodles even more delish. The sizzling steak, their special was absolutely fantastic, with the huge tab of salted butter just coating everything. The iced coffee(ca phe sua da) is nutty and so freaking good. The egg rolls are huge and a generous portion, the prices are awesome, open late, what more could you ask for?

This has always been our go-to spot and we’ve been coming here for 15+ years, so this experience was extremely disappointing. Our regular server got our order wrong and became upset and dismissive when we politely said it wasn’t what we ordered — this happened twice.

On top of that, the wrong items were added to our bill and we were given the wrong change. The entire interaction felt disrespectful and uncomfortable. We’ve never experienced this here before, which makes it especially sad. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

A 30 year-old pho place on busy Brookhurst had 50% OFF BEEF SOUP sign hanging outside for years. I wondered 50% off what? and hesitated to go in. Just too many good Pho places nearby to waste time checking out a potential gimmick.

Friends from out of town wanted to try discount Pho places, so I called, confirmed prices and operating hours. Regular pho bowl $8.25, big bowl $10, also many other Viet dishes with reasonable prices, open from 9 AM to 3AM. Pho Thanh on Bolsa is open 24/7, but has no discount. It owns the 2 Vinh Ky locations and another new Pho Thanh at corner Euclid and Garden Grove, all had signs $7.99 Pho Special. These locations have larger customer base.

This place was nice, clean, smelling neutral, virtually empty at dinner hours. This pho is much better than average, a very good deal for $8. There was plenty of various cuts of meats, rare eye round, brisket, chuck, tendon, tripe, all tasty and good. Rice noodle is Southern, more like hu tiu, lacking the squiggly texture of fresh Northern noodle. The broth was clear, tasty, full of beef taste and aroma, without excess sugar and other spices. Pho is served with bean sprout, mint and fresh pepper. I usually request extra rendered fat with scallion and sour onion gratis.

I could not finish the $10 big bowl. The $10 big bowl is enough for 2 people at home. Just reheat the broth and serve. Take out orders are carefully packaged.

Even today, Vietnam has little or no refrigeration for their meats and seafoods. They are usually spoiled by the time they arrive at the market then consumers. That’s why Viet cuisine uses lots of spices and herbs to mask unpleasant odors. If the food is fresh, there is no reason to overcharge it with spices.

I suggested to the management to hang a clear sign of $8.25 Pho Special so potential customers know exactly what they are paying without having to go in to check.

Pho Thanh has found a good business formula for franchising pho. This pho place is recommended for dine in and take out. Keep a big pho bowl in the fridge and have a big hot pho at home whenever you want to.

For the price and value, you get soooooo much for your money and the beef noodle soup is actually very very good. It’s a no-nonsense Vietnamese restaurant. The broth is 9.5 out of 10. Don’t cry about small things and enjoy your hugely discounted helluva deal pho meal. I get the dac biet large with the side of vinegar white onions and also a side of the oil scallions. This place is my top 2 pho places in all of OC.

I just went here today again and I just can’t express enough about the high quality food, great amount that you get for your money, and also the super nice and friendly service here. It’s an older restaurant but if you want to talk about great value and great quality….this is where you should go, hands down. This place is a SURE BET if you ever want to sit down and enjoy a hot served bowl of pho. Best pho in westminster, best pho in garden grove, best pho in orange county.

Sizzling platter kobe steak with an egg and rice only $13 or kobe pho large bowl or spicy beef noodle soup bun bo Hue only 11. I asked twice they claim it’s authentic kobe steak otherwise they wouldn’t serve it. I believe it’s filet mignon it’s still a good deal even if it’s not Kobe quality. Wonderful experience beef pho is on sale. They are open to 3:00 a.m. It’s wonderful. Cash only generous portion for large bowl.

We are frequent flyers at the Vinh Ky I location at Westminster. But last week they had told us that they don’t serve Cha Gio (Egg rolls) anymore, ever! A sad day for me, I almost lost my shit. Looool

Vinh Ky has been my standard for Pho and Cha Gio. And also their chili oil is by far ones of the best that I’ve tried and it complements the meats on the soup.

This new loc is very spacious, still a lot of locals frequent and this loc is nice because there is a lot of Che places on the same plaza. Also the servers at this loc is much friendlier than the one in Westminster, stilm got love for them though.

Opted for BBH this time and it didn’t disappoint. Give me all the coavumated blood!! And their homemade meatballs are gewwwds.

I just wish they start taking cards in the future!!! But regardless, WE WILL KEEP ON COMING BACK!

The Pho tasted good. I had shrimp pho and my friend had steak pho. The restaurant was quick clean and had self-seating. After we set ourselves we were immediately attended to by a waitress.
