On a cold, rainy day, Pho Saigon Noodle House hit every spot I didn’t even know needed hitting.

From the moment I walked in, the aroma of fresh herbs and simmering broth felt like a hug waiting to happen. The pho came out piping hot, crystal-clear, and full of depth — the kind of broth you can tell has been simmered with real care. The slices of chicken were tender, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the fresh basil, bean sprouts, and lime on the side added that bright, refreshing balance.

I ordered the vegetarian summer rolls with peanut dipping sauce, and they were amazing. Fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor — the peanut sauce took them to a whole new level.

The grilled meat over vermicelli was also a standout — smoky, savory, and seasoned to perfection.

And the iced coffee? Smooth, strong, and just the right amount of sweet. The kind of drink you taste once and already know you’re getting again next time.

Everything felt comforting, balanced, and made with intention. On a day when the rain was falling and the air had that winter bite, Pho Saigon was the warm, flavorful escape I needed.

Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese comfort food done right.

After having overall favorable experiences here, this evening I experienced the worst service. After we seated ourselves (because the hostess didn’t), we were hastedly given our menus by the hostess, which we casually dismissed. We were then waited on by the hostess after another family although we were there well before which she was completely aware of. My daughter’s drink was forgotten– when I checked on it, I was given the excuse they only had one blender, however my son’s specialty drink arrived and I never received my drink. After I politely pointed these concerns out to the young female host/cashier, she gave excuse after excuse after excuse. After pointing out previous pleasant experiences to her, it would have been great to have heard “thank you for your feedback. What can we do to to turn this experience around to be as pleasant as your other experiences with us?” Nope, just excuses with a tone of disgust.

I then asked to speak to a manager which did little to help because of a language barrier. I could tell my concerns were poorly translated to her favor.

After today’s experience, I would never recommend Pho Saigon Noodle House in Crofton Maryland or return. From this point forward, I’ll only go to PHO 5UP in Crofton. At least there, we’ve been consistently treated with respect.

Let me start by saying that I consider myself a pho enthusiast. At one point I ate pho nearly every day for an entire year and have even learned to make authentic pho at home. With that said, this was hands down one of the worst pho experiences I’ve ever had.

The broth was a pale yellow transparent color, it had an unpleasant oily sweetness that completely overpowered the dish. I tried to balance it out with Sriracha, soy sauce, and limes, but nothing helped. Even worse, the noodles themselves seemed to be infused with the same overly sweet flavor, making the entire bowl nearly inedible.

The summer rolls were equally disappointing—bland and poorly assembled. To top it off, the service left much to be desired. I ordered two large plain noodle pho’s, summer rolls, and two glasses of water. While the food eventually arrived, the water never did. I noticed that four patrons who came in after me were immediately served water, while I had to get up more than halfway through my meal and go to the front just to ask for it.

Overall, an extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We were really craving a great Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Pho Saigon Noodle House has it!
Very strong coffee with sweetened condensed milk- definitely a special morning treat, but they nailed it.

Doors open at 10:30 am, and it only took a few minutes for our drinks to be made. We can’t wait to go back!

I have been coming to Saigon Noodle House for about 7 ish years now and they consistently have amazing food. My favorite dishes there are the Beef and Basil (it is my favorite) you will never find beef and basil like this anywhere else. The lemongrass chicken is delicious and their pho is unmatched. I am from out of state and any time I am in dc or surrounding areas I have to make a side quest to come here.

The pho was decent, broth had good depth, but nothing standout. Portion sizes were fair. Service was okay. It’s not a bad spot if you’re nearby and craving pho.

A comfortable and quiet restaurant with excellent food. I was pleasantly surprised by the spring rolls (with nice attention to detail they already cut them into bit size or more manageable pieces). The shrimp dish was also wonderfully seasoned. All in all an excellent meal for a good price!

I have dined at this restaurant for many years, so I know that each noodle bowl normally comes with its own vegetable plate. When I dined here this evening, I ordered two bowls but was given only one vegetable plate. When I asked about it, the waitress told me that we could share one plate, even though other tables each received their own plate per customer.

The vegetable portion was noticeably smaller than what other customers received and much less than in my past experiences. In addition, the plate was filled with excess water and not properly drained. When I slid the vegetables into my bowl, the water spilled into my bowl.

The waitress also did not serve us water at any point. Overall, this felt like unfair and discriminatory treatment compared to other customers.

I have been a loyal customer for years, but this experience was extremely disappointing and has convinced me not to return. I regret tipping, as the level of service did not justify it.

What a gem! We are vegetarian and gluten free so it was great to have such a wide variety of choices! The clay pot with vegetables was so flavorful and the crispy rice at the bottom was a wonderful surprise! The vegetable pho was super flavorful and hearty, stuffed with vegetables and rice noodles. The Singapore rice noodles were delicious. Reasonably priced! We will definitely be back!

This is a very nice pho shop. I love the decor. The service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the Seafood Combination Pho, it had shrimp, scallops and squid, so good.
