My husband ordered the sautéed beef flap meat, and I got the pho with flap meat, brisket, and beef shank. I specifically asked the server if the brisket was fatty brisket (gau), and she said yes. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. It was more like well done brisket with just a tiny strip of fat. What my sister and I jokingly call “fake gau.”
They advertise that their broth is cooked for 24 hours. While it was very clear, it didn’t have that rich, deep “beefy” flavor I was expecting. Also, our pho wasn’t very hot when it arrived, which was disappointing.
My husband said the sautéed meat was very tender, but the portions were stingy, especially the noodles. I really dislike when that happens. I still had plenty of meat left but ran out of noodles.
He also ordered the pork egg rolls. The picture on the menu shows them served with a side of lettuce and herbs for wrapping, but when they brought it out, it came with only ONE piece of lettuce, literally one leaf and one small stem of mint. That was disappointing. The egg rolls had decent flavor, but they were extremely greasy. I would skip them.
Overall, I don’t think we’ll be back and will probably stick to our usual go-to spot. I understand they’re still in their grand opening phase, but it’s been almost two months, so I was expecting things to be a bit more dialed in by now.
There’s plenty of parking, which is always a plus. The food was good and satisfying, especially for a soft opening, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our visit.
Solid first impression – definitely a place I’d come back to as they continue to fine-tune things.
The egg rolls were delicious, and the spring rolls were outstanding. They were served with fish sauce, but honestly they were so good they didn’t even need any sauce. The flavor was perfect on their own. Tom, our server, was amazing—very friendly, attentive, and great at giving suggestions. He recommended the soursop smoothie, and it was really good. We’ve had Tom a few times and he always makes the experience even better.
One small thing to note is that they really stick to the menu and don’t do customizations. I asked if the noodles could be served on the side for my soup and they weren’t able to do that. It wasn’t a big deal at all—just something to know.
Other than that, everything was fantastic. Great food, great service, and we absolutely don’t mind the drive. We definitely recommend people try this place!
