I tried the duck pho that so many reviews mentioned. The dish sounded unique and had great ratings, so I went in with high expectations. The duck meat was served separately—which I didn’t expect—and the pho itself came with beef. The duck meat was quite salty, but the broth was well-balanced and the overall flavor of the dish was enjoyable.
What brought the experience down, however, was the service. Ordering was done entirely through a QR code, so I didn’t have the chance to get any explanation about the dish from the staff. Communication felt difficult, and the younger staff member who seemed to be the owner was noticeably unfriendly throughout my visit. It created an unpleasant atmosphere that overshadowed the food.
I still left a standard tip out of courtesy, but paying nearly $30 in total for a $22 bowl of pho alongside poor service left me feeling it wasn’t worth it. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’d return.

We had such an amazing experience at Pho de Nguyen! Super kid-friendly and family-friendly, with a cozy, homey atmosphere and amazing service. Cat was incredible, she explained how to order, gave perfect food recommendations, and even shared great tips on places to check out around San Francisco while we’re on vacation.
The pho was phenomenal (rich, flavorful broth and huge portions), and we also loved the chicken wings, crab rangoon, and Thai iced tea. Huge shoutout to Linda, the cook and Kat’s mom- such a kind and wonderful person. She even made lemonade for our 8-year-old even though it wasn’t on the menu. He said, “She is so sweet. We have to come back because we love her.”
We’re pho lovers and this place was absolutely perfect for us. Highly recommend. The next time we’re back in the San Francisco area, we will 100% be coming back to visit Cat and Linda!

Ordered a filet mignon to go and was disappointed. This is what I paid $22 for. Never seen a filet mignon that looks like this. We asked one of the employees working there if they gave us the wrong beef. His reply was “We just cut it really thin”. Beware this is what you’re getting if you order a filet mignon.

We just arrived back in the Bay Area, and it’s a cold day. It’s quite the perfect combo for some warm flavorful soups.
Pho de Nguyen didn’t disappoint: the duck pho was on point, balanced, well seasoned, and light. Warms you up, and gives you the right depth to enjoy the broth.
I wished they offered more greens on the side (culantro etc), and they don’t have paper menu (so be ready to have a working Internet connection )

We enjoyed our meals at Pho de Nguyen. We had the bone marrow and shrimp rolls as appetizers. The bun bo hue and beef garlic noodles were OK. It lacked any garlic taste but rather it was kind of sweet. I’ll skip that next time. They have a QR code ordering system which is confusing. Service was excellent.

This appetizer platter was incredible! It is perfectly balanced from light, sweet and nutty options like the spring rolls to heavy, savory bites like the honey garlic wings and egg rolls. The duck skin skewers were so crispy paired well with the drizzle of sauce on top!
Service was fine, it just took a while to get their attention when we needed something. The dining area has plenty of light and space to accommodate large parties if needed.

Arguably the best << Bun Bo Hue >> in the Bay Area. The depth of flavor (beef, lemongrass) comes through in the 100 hour bone broth, well-reflecting the Hue roots of the owner-chef family.
The Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings, crispy fried and perfectly fragrant of garlic, jalapeño. Bun, with chopped crispy spring rolls and choice of protein — shrimp and grilled pork glazed with caramel, full satisfaction.
Open weekdays from 8am, a nice savory breakfast alternative to pancakes and donuts.

Entire restaurant was freezing cold. It was colder inside than it was outside! Because of this atmosphere, it is no wonder our pho came out luke warm.
Service was kinda rude. We were not finished with our meal and our bill was placed on our table. I must say the “older” waitress did say take your time, but within a few minutes later, the “younger” waitress put a credit card machine on our table and walked away. When I didn’t pay, the younger waitress came by and informed me this is the only machine they have. She was implying that I pay now because she wants her machine back.
Goodness! I’m not done feeding my 3 year old and she interrupts our lunch and demands payment! I still tipped them 15%.

Excellent food. Portions were generous. Food has a lot flavors. We ordered Duck Garlic Noodle, Beef Pho with Oxtail, and Bun Bo Hue. IMHO, All were excellent. Appetizer..Deep fried Duck skin is amazing.
