Average, at best. The fried rice was bland and the shrimp in it was dry. The BBQ pork in the rolls was mostly fat and the dipping sauce looked like a curdled peanut sauce but had decent flavor. The garlic noodles I paid $7 extra to add to my rice were missing. This place didn’t make a good first impression and I won’t be back. The empty dining room I was greeted by upon pickup may have been an early tip.

It’s a bit of a darker atmosphere kind of place, more of a casual vibe not really for business meetings or fancy impressions. That said, the food was really good. A better quantity would have been appreciated but all of our dishes were delicious. They had 5-6 vegetarian options and could do vegan and gluten free on demand. Our waiter was very nice. They were a bit busy but still very aware of us and made sure we were well tended.
There were bands playing while we were there and they were very good. They were all good but Blood Feud Family Singers were a nice treat.

I love pho. This place delivers. It took a little bit longer for my vegan broth to be made. The carrots were a little mushy.
The broth had a really great taste.
I was surprised when they started setting up karaoke. There was a great atmosphere, everyone’s friendly. Karaoke was great. Definitely a family setting.

Clearly one of the most unique Vietnamese restaurants one will ever find anywhere. Set up to be a bar with live music with some booths, it can be visually confusing at first. Not a place for those craving natural lights and windows while dining. And visiting during off peak hours probably does not do justice. That said, the food was solid, and service was quite good. It’s recommended for those seeking unique joints, and those who enjoy dining at dive bar-like atmosphere.

This is a very delicious restaurant. The fried chicken wings are tender and juicy; I highly recommend them. My duck leg noodle soup was a generous portion, and the broth was flavorful.

First time since there remodel, place looks great. We had 2 servers as the first one was leaving. The 2nd server was a lady, super nice and fantastic service. Had a appetizer and it was fantastic. I had chicken curry, great flavor all around. I would totally recommend stopping in and trying out this place.

I went to the open mic they host on Wednesday. The sound guy Demi was drunk and rude to some of the performers
Afterwards, i contacted him to try get one of the photos they were taking… He had the gall to ask for a “donation”. So i asked him the price and he became furious.
If these guys want to make extra business selling photos, i don’t have a say, but they try to pass it off as a donation and get mad when somebody calls their grift.
We come to pho cao providing music free of charge for the venue, and we appreciate all that we get in return, but having to deal with some drunk aggressive guy is not cool.
I’m now barred from the open mic after exchanging about 4 words with the dude.
I generally avoid going to open mics where the organisers drink, because after 3 drinks they still think they’re doing a great job when they’re actually not.
I’m leaving this review here to get your attention on this topic. Thank you for the hospitality you show us on tuesdays, when we come to jam there’s never an issue. This stuff… Can’t be happening to only me. I dread to think how many people have been affected by this rapacious and brutish behaviour.
I will gladly take over the open mic if you need a musician who is good, treats people well, and has integrity.
