On Monday, August 28 2023 at around 6pm I went to Pho Cafe for the first time. My allergies were acting up and a good hot Pho always makes me feel better. The gentleman employee behind the counter must have been having a bad day or going thorough something tough because he was one of the most unpleasant and grumpy people I have encountered in a long time. He was slamming tickets, rolling his eyes when he noticed customers who wanted to order, and was even overheard complaining about the number of customers that wanted to eat at the Pho Cafe. While I waited for my food maybe 8-10 people ordered, with little to no line so they were not overly swamped. I would love to say I would go back there again but due to the staff, I will avoid this restaurant if I can. The food was good, but I don’t want to feel like an in-convince when I’m buying food. If I could give service 0 starts, I would.

This is the first time I’ve been to the new woodfield food area. I chose Pho cafe as I have had wonderful Pho on Several vacations. I ordered the rare beef Pho, and a side of lime.

I was window shopping in the mall and came across this food stall in the food court area. I ordered the Rare Beef Pho, to my surprise, the taste is very authentic and the portion is good. Pricing wise is a little on the high side, average $10/bowl. It was nice to warm up the stomach with a nice bowl of Pho during the winter.

I found three hairs in the pho I ordered. But they tell me they cannot replace or refund since I have already stated eating! It’s like they can sell it to others with hair in it if I have not started!

This taste of this broth was slightly above average. However, as you can see in the photo there is a large thick layer of oil on the bowl. This wasn’t acceptable in to my standards. Anyone cooking pho would know you skim out the fat before serving. Only 2 leaves of basil was provided. The noodles were soft and I assume was fresh.

Food was basic. Service was subpar. Before ordering I had to yell to get someone’s attention. It said ring bell for service but there was no bell. Should have been a sign….l asked the girl behind the counter if they had condiments like hoisen sauce and siracha. I guess I should have been more specific and asked if they had fish sauce too. I just assumed so as its unheard of to have a pho place with no fish sauce available. If they would have all the regular condiments and garnishes available and service was friendlier, the food would have tasted better.

Best Pho I’ve had in a long time. I didn’t want any meat but I was ok with the beef broth and he was able to accommodate me by adding veggies. The broth was so flavorful. The Thai iced tea was amazing too. Everything was great.
