We come to town for Disneyland and found this place for dinner one night and LOVED it! Probably the best phó I’ve ever had! The meat was top quality wagyu beef and was super tender. The broth was amazing! And they even gave me a broth refill too. The staff was very friendly and personable and we has a lovely experience chatting with them and enjoying our good soup. Highly recommend!
Things to know: it is located inside a supermarket, we were a little bit confused when we pulled up and couldn’t see it. Go inside. It’s worth it!

Amazing pho! This restaurant is located inside of a Vietnamese grocery store, a little hard to find but the owner will greet you! There is only one thing on the menu and that’s all you need. The broth is prepared fresh and meat was the best part. The owner was so kind and provided the best customer service. For only $18, you get a premium bowl of some of the best tasting pho you will ever taste. While you are waiting for food, you can go shopping too. I will definitely be back!

I highly recommend this place! The food was phenomenal, you would never think a Pho place in a supermarket (Lucky Seafood Supermarket) could taste so good. Tom, the owner, is super friendly and funny. My husband and I are from the Bay Area and live in San Diego, and we’ve had pho in San Jose, OC, NYC, etc. This place is on our top 5 list. Generous meat in the bowl, very tasty. It was the only restaurant I’ve ever been to that reminded me of eating pho at my Vietnamese best friend’s house. Be patient, there’s only one guy running the place. Bring cash, it’s about $18 a bowl plus tip. We will be back!

Best pho place ever. Clean broth, yet still flavorful. Wagyu meat melts in your mouth. I’ve known Tom for years since his OG restaurant upstairs in a different Vietnamese supermarket. We got extra meat (rare steak & rib cubes) & the other employee came by to blowtorch the meat for us & wow! Pro tip: ask for a side of rib cubes & have them blowtorch for you.
Only gripe is the proportion of noodles to meat is way off for me, there’s always way more noodles than there is meat, so I just wish that could be adjusted. But other than that, this is such a hidden gem, must try authentic pho place spot.

It was a cold and rainy day that deserved a nice, warm & hearty meal!

My wife, son and I accidentally stumbled across this place and we were greeted by the friendliest owner. It didn’t take much to convince us to try their akaushi wagyu Pho.

And let me tell you… it didn’t take much NOT disappoint!!!

The broth was perfect! Deliciously savory. The beef was tender, the noodles were slurpable and the aromas were fragrant!

This was the perfect way to brighten up our day.

Even though my son isn’t even 2yrs old… he couldn’t help but inhale everything in his bowl!

Side note: the owner has been making Pho for over 40yrs. And he’s been refining the taste ever since. And if you have the time. Listen to his story.

Now now now folks this is NOT a drill……… When I say this might be the best pho in CA, it’s up there no doubt! I am not usually impressed by most pho places from NorCal to SoCal, most places are around the same level and not many stand out.

I came here at 10am opening on the dot for a solo meal with low expectations, the place is inside Lucky Seafood 2 and is less than casual even… If you’re looking for luxury, this is not the spot for you. But if you aren’t pressed about aesthetic and condition as much, you will not be disappointed here.

Tom runs this as a one man show, he’s got ONE thing on the menu and it’s this pho w/ some quality wagyu! And it’s the best pho I have had probably ever.

Tom’s hospitality is also so kind, approachable, and genuinely feels like I’m being fed by family!
If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get some amazing surprises and a few laughs with him.

This will now be my go to pho!

One of the best places I have been to for pho! The owner, Tom is really passionate and dedicated to giving you good customer service and food while small talk. I really enjoyed the sugarcane juice, since it reminded me of when I visited Saigon. You can tell it’s fresh! The pho itself was so good, it was mind blowing. The broth itself was so seasoned to perfection, with wagyu steak! The noodles were perfectly cooked, not like some places where they cook it and it gets weirdly chewy. Awesome place to go to!

New location is insode the Lucky market. Some of the best pho broth, that I keep coming back for. I’ve followed this shop around since I met the owner a few years back. He offers a high end bowl consistently. I took my roommate here for his first time and he got yelled at when he reached for the hoisin sauce. We all laughed and he proceeded to taste the broth alone. He too was blown away at the flavors and balance. Glad Tom is in the new spot. Highly recommend place on the east side of Garden Grove.

Pho Akaushi, located inside Lucky Seafood Market 2, is the only other pho place I would return to. The owner, Tom, has 60 years of experience and this is evident within the pho’s bold flavors! They also gave us free Vietnamese coffee samples, crafted by iron chef Tom himself. They have the absolute best Vietnamese coffee I’ve ever had! Just the right balance of robustness to richness. I look forward to returning here to enjoy the lovely food, drink, and staff that reside in Pho Akaushi.

From the start I was welcomed by Tom. The owner is a very skilled professional chef who specializes in wagyu beef.

When it came down to ordering, the owner personally selected my order : 1 bowl of his famous wagyu beef soup.

The bowl of soup that was available is one size and it is perfectly balanced with protein and noodles. The meat is super tender and you won’t believe how the meat melts in your mouth. Succulent pieces of meat perfectly cooked to perfection. Your eating quality and it shows…

BROTH: The cleanest and well balanced broth to add to the richness of the meat. Nothing was overpowering in terms of oily or heavy.
Robust flavor in the meat brought out the distinctive taste of the soup.

The vibe: located inside an Asian supermarket you wouldn’t believe the gem hidden inside. This isn’t a one of those places you want to miss if you’re in the area.

I’ll be coming back here for another bowl in the future

The old man is very funny
