Love love love their Earl Grey Milk Tea (no pearls) super refreshing without being sweet or bitter.
As an asian at a quick pho joint I don’t expect much. However as a bare minimum….. serving utensils (chop sticks) is a must. Upon the waiter putting the food down on the table all of the people I was with began to enjoy their meal. I politely asked for chopsticks and that is where things went downhill.
Instead of just providing chopsticks the waiter served attitude. And not any side eye attitude but nuclear level attitude (i.e. what’s wrong with the chopsticks you were given?). Here is the problem I had none (zero utensils were provided). How else am I supposed to enjoy the pho ordered. Perhaps the waiter expected me to eat the food like a dog and immerse my head in the bowl.
When I pointed out the lack of utensils the waiter scoffed and came back later….very much later with the chopsticks (when the party I was with was almost half done their food). Another party at my table asked the waiter for napkins, why? There were none provided. Another party asked for chili sauce a basic staple condiment for pho. None provided. Even the neighboring table asked for chili and napkins. None provided. Too add insult I watched the waiter go to front kitchen/cashier area organizing napkins and condiment and ignoring eye contact for folks asking for said items. Instead of organizing and gate keeping chopsticks, napkins and condiments perhaps distribute them?
It’s a shame for this location. I will continue going to Pho99 just not this location. Even if food is good if the service is lacking….it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I visited Pho 99 in the evening mainly because it’s conveniently close to Shoppersmart. The place seemed quite busy, even after 8 PM, with plenty of diners still enjoying their meals. I ordered their classic pho, a traditional spring roll, a hot Vietnamese French coffee, and a mungo smoothie.
The pho was pretty standard—not bad, but nothing exceptional that stood out. The spring rolls were fresh and seemed homemade, with generous fillings, but again, the flavor was just average. The hot French coffee was decent, but there wasn’t anything memorable about it either.
As for the pricing, with inflation and rising costs, it came to about $25 per person, which is reasonable given the current market. Would I go back? Maybe, but it’s not necessarily a place I’d make a special effort to revisit. It’s a decent spot if you’re in the area and craving Vietnamese food, but nothing groundbreaking.
