Phlox Point Cabin

  4.7 – 86 reviews   • Taco restaurant

Phlox Point Cabin was built in 1930 and remodeled in 2016. Phlox has served as a warming hut for the Timberline Ski Club, a USFS summer guard station, and for more than 60 years it was an overnight shelter for Boy Scouts enjoying skiing and other winter activities. These days it is our mid-mountain ski-in-ski-out food window. Take a break from riding and enjoy tasty street-style tacos, beer, wine, or a hot drink to warm up with on a cold day by the outdoor fire. Only open during the ski season.

Great warming cabin taking a break mid-run from the slopes. The fireplace inside is nice to warm up. They have a bonfire set up outside. The tacos are delicious especially the carnitas. My kids enjoyed the hot chocolate sitting next to the fire.

Super warm and toasty inside, just when you need it mid-run. They have a bonfire set up as well, but we enjoyed the fireplace inside more. The girls working there were very nice, and had a good playlist going. The homemade chips, guacamole, and pico de gallo for $8 were also a must-have.

The woman at the counter had the warmest smile and brightest eyes I think I’ve ever seen in my whole life. I felt so bad about not answering her “how’s it going?” properly, I came back to ski a second day and try again.

Regrettably I did not ask her name, but I hope she’s having a good “weekend” off. I’ll never forget that face.

Oh, and the tacos were good too 🙂

Best warming hut vibes on the mountain! Tacos are incredible, beers are way too expensive. Welcome to a mountain resort!

I like this place. Prices are a little steep but it’s a great stop if you need to keep kids happy with a hot chocolate break!

What’s not to love about amazing tacos in a remote cabin in the woods? Great conversations around the fire pit. Only negative is the toilets nearby but cant hold that against these fine purveyors of squatch tacs

Great spot for tacos! It’s hidden in the woods and easy to miss. The serve beer and have a nice warm fire inside and out. It gets super crowded by the time it opens. Not a good spot for families. This is much better for a smaller group. You probably won’t be able to sit down 90% of the time because of how busy it gets. There are pit toilets outside which is nice.

Best food on Hood but how many people who show up open the door and don’t close it behind them… I didn’t realize this many Jerries were raised in a barn! Are there that many barns in the immediate area i just haven’t noticed?

I haven’t been here in a while but I had a totally soothing nostalgic dream I was back here dominating a taco next to the fireplace while it was snowing hard outside
I’m aching to come back but I’ve gotta wait for next winter!! Ugh. Oh well. If you’re taking a gander at this tucked away taco relaxing cabin I’d urge you to go. It’s a dream LITERALLY .
