Welcoming atmosphere. Good food and good portions for the price. We have been with just 2 people and a large group and they handled both easily. We’ve been for lunch and breakfast and highly recommend the lunch!

My boyfriend and I came to sylva for a weekend away and our first restaurant we went to was Lucy in the Rye. We went for breakfast and I couldnt have been happier with our choice. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was wonderful. We didn’t have to wait for a table either. I had the corned beef hash and it was excellent and my boyfriend had the smothered fried chicken. He said the chicken was perfect and delicious. I stole the fried onions from him because he doesn’t like onions. They were so flavorful, I loved them.

Family friendly experience where every thing ordered tastes hand made with love and care. The staff both visits were amazing and attentive. I suggest the smothered fried chicken and quiche.

I recently had a really nice breakfast at Lucy In The Rye. Service was quick, efficient and attentive. I opted for a basic bacon & eggs breakfast with a half order of biscuits and gravy (my last meal before sleeping in the woods for four days ). I’ll gladly return to Lucy the next time I find myself in Sylva!

I wish I could give this place more stars than five, pictures don’t really do it justice. This place will forever be ingrained in my brain.
Upon closure of a family vacation in Sylva, North Carolina we went to part ways and decided to do a goodbye breakfast. I scour the Internet, looking for places close by that we could eat out before pulling out.
I decided on Lucy and the Rye based on other reviews and photographs. We arrived just as they were opening and besides one other couple were the only people in the restaurant. They were able to accommodate our group of seven by pushing together tables.
The service was amazing and friendly. The staff members gave us our menus and took drink orders immediately. As you can see every member of our group got a different meal. We were all excited to try things that we had seen pictures of online.
They could really be charging twice as much for the quality that they produce in their food. It was an unforgettable breakfast, a very friendly staff and a clean restaurant. I did utilize the restroom services and they were also clean and well stocked.
I can only say I wish they were closer to home and I could visit them more frequently, but it will have to be a once a year endeavor, unfortunately.

We were on our way to raft the Nantahala and stayed the night in Dillsboro (a short drive to the restaurant). The next morning we were looking for a breakfast better than the continental one and stumbled upon Lucy in the Rye! There was no wait when we got there and the food was delicious! We got the ham and cheese omelette with a side of fruit and ham, and the avocado toast with a side scrambled egg! Both were great and the food was quick! The servers were also very good! The entire Main Street is pretty cool and worth checking out, after breakfast we went in a few of the other stores! We will definitely be coming back in the future! There was a decent amount of street parking and we didn’t have an issue finding a spot.

A quaint southern town restaurant with delicious food, not necessarily designed for the waist line. Staff was fun and helpful. I enjoyed the sausage gravy and biscuits. It could’ve been a little warmer, but had great flavor.

Great place on Main St in Sylva. Breakfast was very good; the western omelet was cooked perfectly with lots of veggies – very tasty. The biscuits were great also. The sausage gravy lacked sausage flavor but wasn’t bad, just a missed opportunity. Bathrooms and dining room were very clean. Service was great.

This place is absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to return! The old building is so cute. The hostess and waiter were 10/10. Fast attentive service. The bus boy actually took the time to spray and thoroughly clean each table. The food was the BEST part. A+++ I got the avacado toast and added bacon. I loved the pickled onions. The fresh squeezed OJ was a nice surprise. My daughters bacon egg and cheese biscuit that she said was great. My husband got a breakfast burrito and loved the sausage gravy poured on top of it. The cheesy grits were also good and the cheese melted nicely in the hot grits. We will definitely return!
