It’s a really nice place to hang out, especially if you’re planning to spend some time there. When we went, there was a long line and it took about 15 minutes, but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was really good, and this time I decided to try two different coffees. I meant to order one hot and one cold, but ended up with both cold—still a good choice.

I’m not usually a sweet coffee person, but I tried the lavender latte. It was good, though a little sweet for my taste. My black coffee (Americano) was perfect and exactly what I enjoy. I also had a cookie, which I loved—it was soft, crumbly, and had a really nice texture. Overall, a great spot to relax and enjoy good coffee and food. ☕️

It was an unique experience to get a coffee today at this place. There was a long line to wait to get inside the cafe and. I think I waited close to 20 minutes in line. Ordered my coffee with barista, he was great at my coffee, after receiving my coffee then I got to cashier and paid for it. It was all done in timely manner though. Place is super busy yet cleaned. They’ve got so much variety to choose from. Great Christmas decorations, plenty of seating area, inside and outside. Highly recommend this place.

Everything was so cute!! and the drinks were delicious. and the service is unmatched. just like all of the other reviews here – this is a must!

we got 3 different drinks. the strawberry matcha, the ca phe sua da and then the coconut esque (?) one. all 3 were amazing with the ca phe sua da being the best.

the service was amazing and they have you test the drink to see if you like it before you pay which is something i’ve never experienced before. it was clean and the decor was so cute. when I go back to the west coast I will definitely go back!

4.7/5 ### Phin Smith in Garden Grove – Coconut & Avocado Smoothie Coffee Steals the Show

Nestled in the heart of Garden Grove, Phin Smith is a gem for anyone craving a fresh spin on Vietnamese coffee. I stopped by last Saturday morning, drawn by buzz about their Coconut and Avocado Smoothie Coffee, and let me tell you—this drink is a game-changer. The shop itself exudes a warm, inviting vibe with its minimalist decor, colorful murals, and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. The staff was all smiles, quick to take my order, and even tossed in a suggestion to add an extra splash of coconut milk for that tropical punch.

This smoothie coffee is pure magic in a cup. The bold, nutty Vietnamese coffee base holds its own, delivering that classic caffeine kick, while the avocado blends in for a velvety, almost dessert-like creaminess that’s surprisingly light. The coconut milk ties it together with a natural sweetness that doesn’t overpower—think beach vacation in liquid form. I got the medium ($6.50, a steal), and it was perfectly chilled, refreshing, and kept me satisfied for hours. No grainy texture, no overly sweet aftertaste—just a harmonious blend of flavors.

On the flip side, the place was packed, and my order took about 12 minutes during the morning rush. Also, the menu could be clearer on portion sizes; I had to ask for details. But these are minor gripes when the drink is this good. Phin Smith nails the balance of innovation and tradition, making it a must-visit for coffee lovers in Garden Grove. I’m already planning my next trip to pair this with their banh mi. Solid 4.6/5—nearly perfect, and I’m hooked!

If you’re a coffee lover, you have to try the Vietnamese coffee served here—especially the Phin style! It has a unique flavor that’s a bit different from the traditional version, but it’s definitely worth a taste. Just a heads up, it can get pretty busy on the weekends, but don’t worry, they serve you up quickly. Enjoy!

The drinks here were outstanding. The Vietnamese coffee, coconut coffee, banana coffee, and s’mores latte were all unique and exceptionally, each one really stood out. The Peach Breeze drink with fresh peaches was especially refreshing and perfect if you’re looking for something light and flavorful. Great quality, great flavors, and definitely worth a visit.

Ice Lavender Latte for a perfect Sunday afternoon. There are seven baristas behind the counter and they could all be on the cover of a coffee magazine!

The barista will make your coffee and have you sample it before paying, just so they can make any complimentary adjustments or a full replacement if needed. They care about their coffee and it shows.

Food/Pricing – Matcha Latte $6 for a large – they had soy or whole milk as options but I was never asked if I wanted either. Judging from the taste though it seemed like they automatically used soy milk in it. I enjoyed it but would have liked the option of choosing whole milk.

District 1 ground coffee $17 – I find it odd when places don’t label their coffee grinds with how heavy it is, roast date, expiration date, etc. but it look like a good size so I decided to give it a try. I have a food scale at home so I can see that the bag I picked up was 17.6 oz. Very fair price to me. It’s a dark roast and I have not tried it yet but I’m sure it will not disappoint.

Service/Ambiance – Interesting setup. You order first and then when your drink is ready grab it and head to the cashier to be charged.

Parking – There is street parking and some lots nearby.

Smaller space and lots of people coming through. But they have many baristas handmaking your drinks. They even ask you if you like your drink, and they will remake your drink before you pay if you don’t!

Ca Phe Sua Da is the most popular but Oahu Joe and Taiwanese Sea Salt Coffees are both really good.

Super tasty coffee! We stopped here due to the excellent reviews and it did not disappoint!

The shop was literally packed with people at almost every table when we came in. They have a pretty decent sized menu with a variety of coffee drinks and matcha. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee and my parents ordered the Oahu Joe and Vanilla Cold Brew. We all loved our drinks! My Vietnamese coffee was well-balanced and not too sweet. The Oahu Joe had tropical vibes with lots of coconut flavors (which we love).

Prices were surprisingly lower than what I was expecting. Service was excellent. I will be visiting again when I come back out here in December!
