1. The food is amazingly good. I would not get cheesesteaks from elsewhere along the Main Line. (Emphasis on Main Line.) I love their crinkle-cut fries too.
2. The staff are grumpy. They can be rude. They are not the most welcoming and their customer service isn’t great. BUT the food is awesome and at least worth doing takeout.
3. Pay cash. If you pay credit, you get an upcharge.
4. If you choose to dine in, just make sure you get your food and everything you need. If anything is wrong, tell them to fix it. They’ll probably be grumpy about it, but they’ll do it.
5. You only get 1 free drink refill. (It’s weird because it’s a fountain, but that’s their policy.)
6. I have never done delivery, but I’d recommend doing takeout instead and checking your items to make sure they’re all there and correct.
If you want an authentic-tasting Philly cheesesteak, Phil’s is it. As long as you’re not looking for the staff to wine and dine you, get your order, check it’s correct, and get out. Again, customer service isn’t great, but the food is, so if you’re up for a challenge, check it out. I’ve been a customer since 2006. It’s worth a suck-it-up-buttercup.
I’ve eaten here probably a hundred times, the food is fine… the owners just don’t care how they act. I had a driver complain about the tip I gave him (which was a normal tip by the way). Whenever you call the place they seemed agitated that you’re calling…very annoying. ORDER BERWYN PIZZA INSTEAD
NOW IN 2024-
The same driver, who still works there, showed up AGAIN and complained about his tip AGAIN. $5 for a single pizza that’s less than a 10 minute drive is beyond adequate. Be grateful instead of openly complaining about what we didn’t have to give you in the first place. That on top of his delivery charge. My advice, get a different job, clearly you can’t handle working in the service industry.
