I’m always glad to support a local establishment over a national chain, and this spot is certainly a welcome addition to the area. There’s plenty to like here, though a few areas could use some refinement.
First, be mindful of timing. If you’re dining with an impatient guest whether it’s a child, a parent, or someone on a short lunch break, I recommend calling ahead. The wait time was just a touch longer than expected.
As for the food, the cheesesteak delivered on flavor and portion. It was loaded generously and had a satisfying bite. That said, I’d love to see an option with a classic cheese wiz sauce in addition to the all-provolone approach. It would add a nostalgic and indulgent layer to an already solid sandwich.
The meatball sandwich, however, didn’t quite justify the $13 price point. With only three meatballs and a sauce that could use more seasoning, it felt a little underwhelming in comparison
Overall, this is a promising local spot with strong potential. A few tweaks to the menu offerings and value would really elevate the experience.

Was excited to try a new local spot but totally disappointed. 30 min work lunch so I ordered ahead online, super easy. The only right thing was the order was ready at the time I wanted. Order is wrong. No sweet or hot peppers as ordered. Got big chunks of green pepper instead. Still edible but could have gotten better from a pizza shop. Go to get food, person behind the counter doesn’t speak. I ask for my food, get handed a bag. What about my side & drink. Not a word. Grabbed my stuff & left. Get back to work, wrong toppings.
Maybe it’ll get better but aggravating experience for $20+ price tag

My buddy and I ate there a few days ago. I had eaten at the Beaver location before and loved it, so I was excited to give this location a try. I was not disappointed. I am not a cheese steak connoisseur, but I know a good sandwich when I eat one. My cheese steak was very tasty and large enough to take some home with me. However, this physical location isn’t great for restaurants. Several have opened and closed over the past few years. Merchant Street would have been better, in my opinion.

Got a cheese fry basket and a cheesesteak. Portion sizes are ample but not as much as some other places. The food was good, the fry basket could have fed two people, but that’s fries, and what you would expect to pay 6 bucks for in the past or at a bar is 10 bucks here. Meanwhile the sandwich was less than a footlong and at a price higher than the upper range chains like Firehouse Subs.
The meat was actually ample in that less than footlong cheesesteak, and the toasting was perfect, but it’s hard to overstate that it will cost you twice as much as any similar sandwich. In Ambridge, an economically depressed town, and it’s no secret.
Honestly, this place isn’t bad and I wish them luck but it’s too rich for my blood, and I can’t in good conscience overlook the value aspect for anyone else, either.

My fiance and I tried this last night, I’ve had a lot of Philly cheesesteaks in Philly and this was just as good – if not better to the “famous” ones there. It was hot, yummy and filling!! When we placed our order it accidentally went to the beaver location – when my fiance went to pick it up we figured that out. However the crew here made us a fresh new order without charge and said the order in beaver will be used to feed the crew there! We appreciated it so much! We will be back!!

Best cheesesteak in Pittsburgh area. I am from Philly so I know cheesesteaks. This sub is even better than some in Philly. The service is friendly and efficient as well. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

The sandwich was good, the issue is how expensive it is. It’s almost $15 for an 8 inch steak that doesn’t include fries or a drink. I would eat here more if it was reasonably priced, however I doubt I’ll eat here more than every once and awhile due to how expensive it is.

We were disappointed in the overall quality of the meat, the cheese whiz was old and discolored and not actually cheese Wiz. While the Beaver locations is easily an 4.75 out of 5, my wife gave the Ambridge location a 2 out of 5 and I cannot give it 3 stars either. Inside of the resturant was not well lit and drafty.
