Our group of four came in & there was only one other couple seated. First impressions, the space was cute but the smell of sewage was quite strong, but nothing we couldn’t bare.
We get seated & are brought chips/salsa. The salsa had zero flavor, like none. We ordered a spicier salsa, which was spicy but very pepper forward tasting, not the best.
We all order — Around the table we have a quesadilla meal, birria tacos meal, 3 tacos (2 pastor & 1 shrimp) & enchiladas. We got waters to drink aside from one skinny margarita.
The margarita comes & it might’ve been because it was the skinny version, but it had zero flavor aside from tequila & triple sec. Not very good, but the table finished it quickly with a $15.00 price tag.
Our food comes & everything looks fine. The quesadilla was fine, no complaints. The birria tacos themselves were great but the rice was extremely bland, almost tasted like nothing. The enchiladas did not look appetizing, but were just okay.
Heres where the bigger issue came in; The shrimp in the shrimp taco smelled horrible. Horrible to where we didn’t feel it was safe to consume. We informed the staff & were fine with another pastor taco to take home in placement. We got a small ‘sorry’ as the waitress walked away & it was taken off the bill, but that was all. They did not seem concerned. This made us fearful to eat the remaining food.
We were the only people in the restaurant by the time the food came & it was hard to get any refills, the check, or anything because the waitress consistently disappeared. We unfortunately won’t be back & wouldn’t recommend it.
Complementary chips were fine.
My add on pickled jalapenos were great.
If I come through this way again I’ll just ask them to go easy on the cheese, because the pork was magnificent.
