I’ve been coming here for over 30 years and it is still the best burger I’ve ever had. Be sure to get it with tots. The old fashioned atmosphere, paired with an old fashioned burger isn’t something to miss. In fact, to me, it’s well worth a drive from Memphis. Thank you for doing it right all this time.

Highly recommend this as a stop on your dining pilgrimage Can’t beat the atmosphere of an old, historic building. My burger was good – didn’t like the fries-not well done or very tasty. The burger is interesting – seared to a crisp on each side and moist and juicy in the middle. We met a local who for a hamburger only eats Phillips burgers. The meat is quite mildly seasoned – I can make better seasoned burgers at home (I guess, personal preference), but I will try cooking them like these – it does add to their uniqueness.

Located on E Van Dorn Avenue across the street from the historic Holly Springs Depot: When you’re ready to have a GREAT burger and fries (or any other really good sandwiches and sides — this is the place! Family operated and with an amazing collection of Americana, Phillip’s is a really a memorable experience and a sure way to fill up on really good cooking!

Phillip’s has the neatest atmosphere of any restaurant in Holly. It was featured on the Travel Channel’s “Burger Land.” I like to get bacon added to my burger with a side of fries and a coke in a glass bottle. Small staff so there is a bit of a wait. Don’t go thinking it’ll be as fast as Wendy’s. it isn’t fast food.

They don’t take credit cards right now. You have to call ahead to order or order from your car when you get here. You can’t go inside. They’ll bring your food to you.

Most amazing place. I grew up in Holly Springs and left in 93′. I miss the building up on the hill, the depot next door, the memorabilia and most of all the old fashioned style burger. I’ve lived all of the country since then and nowhere that I have seen has the history, nostalgia and the feeling of home like Phillip’s does. Keep doing what you do and NEVER CLOSE!

This place was so good previously. Yesterday they had the lobby shutdown. They came to the door to take your order. They were anything but friendly. Not rude but not friendly either. We spent 17.00 on two burgers and one onion ring. The onion rings were cold and the burgers weren’t good like they were. We were really disappointed . Probably will try one more time and see if it’s any good and maybe it was a bad day for them.

Are you looking for a scrumptious bite, while allowing yourself a chance to put up your feet and enjoy the scenery? Look no further than Phillips Grocery!

This eatery offers better-than-fast-food burgers and fries with an old country store feel. The nearby old train station and all parts nearby make one think they’ve gone back in time 50–100 years.

Although Saturdays are hopping, the weekdays offer a much more laid experience.

Hope you enjoy!

The burgers at Phillip’s Grocery are delicious. They are like those old-fashioned burgers! My mom use to take us there…and everything at the store still seems the same…I would highly recommend their burgers to anyone!
