Wings were delicious, get a side of their hot sauce! American food, as expected from a tavern/bar, but was fresh and hot. Loud, local crowd on a Friday afternoon but not obnoxious. Just good people having a good time.

P&G’s is a true New Paltz classic! The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the staff are friendly, and the food always hits the spot. Big portions, great burgers, and tasty apps…perfect for grabbing a casual bite or hanging out with friends. Love the historic vibe and the lively energy here. Always a go-to when I’m in town!

I had dinner at P and G’s for the first time while visiting family in New Paltz over Christmas, and it was a wonderful experience. I was dining with friends who are regulars, and I can see why they keep coming back. The service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding. I ordered the Chicken Stir Fry special and it was absolutely delicious.
One of my dinner companions has dietary restrictions, and our server, Danielle, went above and beyond to make sure she understood exactly what was needed. Even though the restaurant was very busy that evening, Danielle was incredibly attentive, friendly, and engaging—always with a smile. We truly felt well taken care of and I’m looking forward to returning on my next visit to New Paltz.

I visited P&G Restaurant during my stay in New Paltz based on a recommendation, and the food itself was quite good. My turkey Reuben with sweet potato fries (pictured!) was a definite hit. What dampened the experience, however, was the unexpected $2 upcharge for the sweet potato fries. Even if a side is included, customers should always be notified of additional costs for premium options. This lack of communication was disappointing. Service also started off on the wrong foot; we waited roughly seven minutes before our drink order was taken, and subsequent refills were slow. While the restaurant was clean, the initial slow service and the surprise charge impacted my overall rating. I do recommend, and yes I would give it another try if I was in the area again.

P&G’s in New Paltz is a must-visit! The food was seriously amazing. I had the quesadilla, and it was cheesy perfection. But the real star of the show was the Mac salad beyond amazing! Huge shout out to Mike, a very nice gentleman who made the experience even better, and to Francisco, the cook who whipped up that incredible Mac salad. If you’re in town, definitely check this place out!

Great place with casual atmosphere for lunch dinner or even just cocktails in the artsy little Catskills town of new Paltz. My bison burger, soup and hot cider were great on a cold day after visiting the walkway over the Hudson and walk downtown. Been to this place many times and it never disappoints

Had dinner tonight, absolutely fantastic. Service was awesome and the food, ridiculous. Everything was delicious. The French onion soup was the best I ever had. I had the chicken and shrimp pesto, very good. The only bad note was the yelling baby. We go out to unwind, relax, and have pleasant evening. I don’t want to hear that. Sorry. Everything else was wonderful. We will definitely go back

It was freezing cold and when asked to turn up the heat was told they were not allowed to touch the heat other than changing the direction of the blower. Everyone in our party kept their jackets on or sat on jackets because the seats were freezing. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay longer as we were all uncomfortable. Everyone left with numb feet. It was not a pleasant experience. As usual the staff was great and the food was very good but we will not be back on cold days if you can’t heat the building.

After reading other reviews I thought it would be a great find. Food was ok, the jalapeño poppers was a good appetizer, but my French dip sandwich was a little on the dry side. Service was ok. The best thing was the Peanutbutter Chocolate Explosion for dessert. Probably would return just for the dessert!
