First time there. Absolutely great food. Nice people. Really good atmosphere. Reminded me like places I went to when I was younger. It brought back some memories. You can also get other items there which is very convenient . I do most definitely want to go back and try other food items they have. They have so many food items to choose from which all looks very tasty. Go on out and give them a try you won’t be disappointed i guarantee you .

Ate there today around 1:30. It’s a really cool place way out in the country, and our first visit. My partner had the special (Salisbury Steak w/mashed taters and fried okra). That was my first choice, but swayed in another direction upon arriving. He really enjoyed the food, but it was served lukewarm (okra barely warm, but looked yummy). There was no gravy on his potatoes or any butter on the plate for the roll included. I ordered a large Philly Cheesesteak sandwich (planned on taking half of it home, which I did). By the time I received my Philly, he was finished with his meal. It would’ve been nice to have enjoyed receiving them at the same time, and both hot. My sandwich was hot, along with the onion rings (they were really good, and I’m sure frozen, as was the okra). Unfortunately, it was not what I was expecting from a Philly Cheesesteak. The meat had been cooked with a lot of A-1 sauce, making it impossible to taste the onions or bell peppers. I ate half of the sandwich, but IF I order another one, I will definitely request that nothing be added to the meat whatsoever. While I’ve never heard of A-1 sauce being included on that particular sandwich, someone might like it. I did not. It was certainly an interesting twist if you’re used to a regular Philly. I almost thought I was eating BBQ at first. It was saucy. The place is relaxing and welcoming, the folks were super nice. Had I known their style of a Philly would automatically have A-1 added to the mix, I would have ordered something else. I’m sure I’ll be returning, but wanted to toss in this information for others if they’re expecting a regular Philly. They had bottles of A-1 on the bar you can add to it. If you do order one, make sure and let them know you simply want plain grilled meat, grilled onions and bell peppers, along with melted cheese (mine was not melted, as I was told it would be—they use mozzarella, but provolone would’ve been a nice touch). I may just try a burger next time (they looked yummy), or a pizza. (?)

Call ahead they are now open!!!! Absolutely the best cheeseburger and fries. I’ve also had the chicken tenders a couple times. Everything has been great. Service is friendly, you may want to call ahead if you’re taking out, the food is made per order when you order it’s not fast food it is fresh food! Added a few more pictures.

I’ve been coming to this market since I was little. It has been a staple of this small little community for generations, and I think it is wonderful to have a place like Pettit’s in every little corner of the county. The store has been remodeled since its new ownership, and I have to say, I’m impressed. It still shares that same homey feeling with its large front deck and beautiful wood floors as it has in the past, but now it serves as a wonderful example of what restoration should be. I wish more homes and businesses were treated the same. Congratulations on your reopening, and may we see many more generations of Pettits Market serving the community.
