Born at the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee, the Petro, a layered delight of Fritos corn chips, special recipe chili (also available plant-based), shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, real sour cream, green onions, black olives and jalapeños quickly became a fan-favorite! Premium toppings such as grilled chicken, pulled pork, guacamole, salsa, queso, buffalo or bbq sauce make for a Premium Petro’s Experience. The menu rounds out with giant baked potatoes, black angus all-beef hot dogs, nachos and wedge salads, all made to order to your specifications. Last, but certainly not least, is the refreshing Hint-of-Orange Iced Tea (not flavored, but infused with orange essential oils and brewed with dried orange rind), the perfect compliment!

Reviews
I debated on reviewing but when I compare this to Johnson City TN, where I have ate their many times, I was left disappointed. I took a friend that has never tried this before and I raved about how good it was. That this one was new in town. I ordered my go too, the medium pulled pork BBQ petro, my friend ordered a Buffalo chicken petro, then ordered two loaded baked potatoes and a chili cheese dog for someone else. My complaint was the food. The service and kindness from the staff were on point. I had a literal sprinkle of pulled pork on top. No BBQ that I could taste and not even a fork full of meat. My friend with the chicken was similar. My bowl was literally only chili and chips, that was basically it. So that was disappointing, considering the price for the bowl. Potatoes looked good but were not mine to eat. The chili cheese dog we paid for was sadly not in our bag. We did not discover this until 20 minutes away. So, I am hopeful because this place is new, they will get it together. I understand flukes happen and everything. I hope the employees weren’t trained to put the smallest portion of meat in the petro bowls. If so, the portions need to honestly be adjusted.
