An adorable restaurant in an adorable part of town. Petite Chou has an incredible atmosphere, even in the chaos of their restaurant rush.

My espresso martini was divine and the duck fat pommes frites were an incredible shared appetizer that my friend & I enjoyed. I believe variety is the spice of life so the trio of dipping sauces that accompanied the fries were ::chefs kiss::. Our bartender was friendly and professional.

All around a great experience.

An absolute wondrous time dining at Petite Chou! They really set the bar with amazing foundational cooking and delightful menu options. The soft scramble egg with bordelaise was incredible and the side of crispy bacon literally melted on my tongue. I had a really beautiful latte which came with a palmier cookie. 10/10 all around experience. Can’t wait for some champagne next time!

I was excited for this place. I wanted to take my sister, who’s visiting from out of town, to a nice restaurant in Indianapolis. Something impressive. Something warm.

I made a reservation. I selected INDOOR seating. Very clearly. Very intentionally. Not OUTDOOR, but INDOOR.

We walk in. Host grabs menus. Turns around. Starts leading us outside.

No explanation. No warning. No “hey, is patio okay?” Just full confidence like freezing to death is part of the dining experience.

It’s early February. It’s 21 degrees. Real feel: 4.

Four degrees!

I’m staring at this situation thinking, Why would I ever pay good money to eat dinner in a parka? I couldn’t even take my coat off. When your coat stays on, you’re no longer dining. You’re surviving.

Best part? We’re the only people being marched out there. The group of 4 behind us? They never come outside. So I guess indoor seating does exist. Just… not for us.

At that point we did the only rational thing left to do.

We left.

Walked across the street to Flatwater. They sat us immediately. Indoors. With heat. No hypothermia package required.

Look, if clicking “indoor” on a reservation means absolutely nothing, just say so. Don’t pretend it’s a choice.

I wanted to love this place. I really did. But I’m not paying upscale prices to feel like an Antarctic researcher.

Flatwater saved the night.
This place lost a customer.

Just happen to be walking by and saw this quaint little place along the street. I was looking for a patio so I could sit outside with my puppy date. Excellent service wonderful food. Nice ambience.

We always go to Petite Chou for lunch when we go shopping in Broad Ripple. This is the first time we have ever been disappointed.
The duck fat frites were good, but all of the entrees were disappointing. I got the Hippie omelet, and it had almost no mushrooms or feta, and it was severely lacking salt.
One of the people with me got the breakfast crepe. It was extremely salty and cooked so hard that it exploded across the table when she tried to cut it. The other person with me got the chicken salad tartine. It tasted good, but the piece of bread and the portion of chicken salad were both very small. She was completely finished eating while the other two of us were less than halfway through our food.
Service was fine, nothing out of the ordinary one way or the other.
Also, I don’t appreciate the trend of businesses thinking that they need to plaster political statements on their doors or windows.
I think next time we go to Broad Ripple, we will try someplace else for lunch.

Great food and service. Cozy but with adequate sitting outside on a rainy day with covered seating. French onion soup very legit. Grilled cheese and frites quite tasty as well. It seems they do it well here. Great job.

I’ve been to Petite Chou several times, but had my first brunch there this Saturday. Service was excellent and the decor is lovely as always. The outer seating areas are well heated.

Overall the food was good, including the lavender champagne cocktail I ordered. Wished I could try every one as they all looked delicious.

I was disappointed, however, by the savory crepe I ordered. (The one with mushrooms.) I’ve had lots of crepes including in France, and this was the oiliest, hardest version of a crepe I’ve ever had. Not moist and soft like crepes should be. I also hoped the server might ask how everything was so I could offer some friendly feedback, but he never did (hence the Google review).

I hope they might read this and improve their crepe game, because everything else is on point and I’d love to go back for brunch again and hopefully have some better crepes!

My daughter ordered the waffles and they were good. Bacon was a bit too cooked for our taste.

Delicious food, loved the ambiance! The chicken paillard was very good. And the profiteroles were phenomenal! Definitely will come back!

I’ve held off on my review to make sure I gave it a fair shot. Plus I’m a little biased knowing someone who fires the dishes.

I’ve eaten here 5 times during breakfast and lunch. The first time I had the Market salad. I distinctly remember the goat cheese being a pleasant addition and the vinaigrette being bright and citric.

The second time I came for Mothers day and got the Omelet du Jour that I know included leaks, white cheddar, and chicken sausage. It was delicious! I would recommend but per the name, the omelet always changes. The fried potatoes were crunchy and nicely salted. I also tried the chocolate puddle cake that day. It was melty and rich, the servers all recommended gelato on the side.

The third time I came during lunch hours with my best friend who’s vegan and got the Warm Quinoa salad as entrees (mine included chicken), the Mushroom Duxelle, avocado toast, and espresso martinis. The quinoa was so good, I highly recommend. It had a lot of depth of flavor and textures. At the influence of my friend, we both had about 4 martinis each. Also a go to for us here.

The fourth time was for breakfast again and it’s been on my mind every since. That croque madam was so fire..you might be tempted to eat two if weight gain and future cholesterol issues weren’t a thing.

Just recently I got the seasonal hash that also changes often. The manager recommended lamb sausage and that blew it out of the park. Round of applause Petite Chou.

The food is okay, but for the price, it’s subpar. Beet burger is way too salty. The fork burger… well it’s just a burger. Fries are pretty good, some were a bit too burnt to my liking. I love the atmosphere, though. And the food presentation is excellent. We sat in the patio and it’s great. I don’t think the same can be said if we were to sit inside.
