Im really disheartened by this latest experience, I’ve grown up going to Pete’s place and the steak being incomparable, excellent, and worth coming back for. However this time, it was so bad I definitely won’t be back.
Our bill didn’t match the prices listed on the menu, I understand prices change and vary but when they do, keeping your customers informed is probably the best policy for this exact reason.
Next, the steaks were wildly disappointing as 3 out of 4 steaks were cooked wrong. Two were supposed to be a medium well and one a medium, however all three steaks came out red all through the steak. Basically a medium rare. The only steak that was cooked right, was the steak made well done.
A ribeye that was supposed to cost 22 costed 25. And a charge of 6 dollars was added at the end of my bill with no notification that this would occur. For 3 adult steaks and 1 kids, our bill totaled to 148$ then after paying, we received a receipt for 154$. Service wasn’t super slow but wasn’t fast either. We also ordered killer cake to go, this cake was always the main reason why we’d go, that and the wonderful taste of the steak, but two cakes were missing half of the topping…
I miss the Pete’s I’d take my family to and talk to friends about 5 years ago.

Pete’s was recommended to us by an All-Star Local fella! Said it was the best streak you can buy. Well…he was correct, it was a magnificent ribeye. Cooked and seasoned to perfection! The sides were all pretty normal but I thought the fried okra was super good with a side of hot sauce! It’s sort of a different setup of a place as the bar area and restaurant area are through different doors connected by a short hallway. We figured that was so the good folks can eat without having to look at us nefarious types… . No really the bar side has a jukebox also as well as a regular dining room. Kasey waited on us and she was ON THE BALL! One word of warning….this IS a cash only establishment and they DO NOT have an ATM. You have to go across the four lane road to a tad bit of a sketch gas station to get green dollar bills! Other than that…. muy bueno! Highly Recommended!

I was with friends. I was very pleased to see that now that I am OLD I can order from the kids’ menu (12 and under or 60 and over) and I had the kids’ ribeye and baked potato and they were delicious! The potato had such great potato flavor. I can’t explain it, but it was nice and potatoey. 🙂 I live in Maryville, but I will be making the trek back out there to have another kids’ ribeye and tater. Tater, as in Tater Valley, which is where my daddy was from.

Second time coming here (last time was 3 years ago).
I had the chicken, onion rings and mac n’ cheese. The husband had the Grouper sandwich with fries and an unsweet tea.
The food was delicious. Sweet tea was good. Will be coming back!

Overall it was good. Service was slower than normal because they were understaffed. But the waitress Liz was nice and had a smile. I had the grilled chicken with fries and a loaded salad. A house salad compared to a loaded house salad is that a house salad only has lettuce and tomatoes and a loaded salad has lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, cheese and croutons. But the size was nothing to write home about.

We love going to Pete’s and one of the best parts is asking what the desserts are! We had a monster cake and I do not think I have had something so tasty like that before. Make sure to ask about the desserts so you can try it!

It was a little pricey. And unfortunately the menu that is online does not match the menu at the restaurant! Also, when the waitress came over to get our order, she stated that the prices on the menus in our hands were lower than the actual prices! I am not sure why, if they are making so much money, they have not printed new menus. This is very misleading. I asked her why the ones online have not been taken down and she said that’s a good question. False advertisement is what I call it. However, the prime rib is out of this world and so was the dessert that the waitress suggested! So so good. But I can only afford to go there once a year now.

Our first time there tonight and it exceeded any expectations. The food was hot and so delicious. Best grouper I’ve ever had. The servers were friendly, fast and accurate. We will definitely return! Reasonable prices too! You have to try it!

Sounds like Dale Brown was in a bad mood or something. I have never had a bad experience there. He must not be from here because we all know you can’t update menus every couple weeks when prices go up deal with it. Everything on the menu is great. Steaks are fabulous

Wonderful place to eat. The food was tremendously good, and the service was second to none. We felt like family on our first time in the restaurant. Even with staffing trouble, the food was fresh, came out quick, and the servers had great demeanors despite being overworked. I will be a return customer and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This is one of my favorite places to eat! The steak is the best I’ve ever had and I’ve ate at steak houses all the way to California! If you are ever within 100 miles of this place, you have to go. Heck if you’re within 200 miles. You won’t be disappointed. The service and atmosphere is incredible as well. I love Pete’s Place!!!
