Update (12/6):
Had a great time again today. Good and service are always topnotch.

Our first visit to Pete’s Legacy Diner was such a great experience — and we went as a family of four, with our two kids in tow. There was plenty of parking, and even though we had to wait a few minutes for a table, the kids didn’t mind one bit thanks to the beautiful fish tank near the entrance. It was spotless, full of colorful fish, and honestly one of the cleanest tanks we’ve seen at a restaurant.

Our server, Camille, made us feel welcome right away. She was so friendly, patient with the kids, and had this calm, genuine energy that made the meal feel relaxed and fun.

The food was excellent — probably the best we’ve had at a local diner so far. The French fries were hot, crisp, and perfectly salted. The milkshakes (vanilla and chocolate) were thick, creamy, and full of flavor. The fried haddock was outstanding — one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The pancakes were fluffy and just right, though the syrup could’ve been a bit better.

Camille checked on us several times with a warm smile, making sure everything was good. She even gave each of our kids a little pumpkin before we left — such a sweet touch that absolutely made their day.

When the kids say it’s a “20 out of 5 stars” place, you know it’s special. We’ll definitely be back — I think we just found our new favorite diner.

This diner features competitive prices and more than ample portions. The service is friendly and welcoming. Although there was a very short wait for a table, the food came out quickly and at the perfect temperatures.

I went there one day and the food was excellent. Took the family there a couple days later expecting the same quality of food and it was a HUGE disappointment!!! The hamburger my daughter ordered literally had a puddle of grease on top of it. My ribeye sandwich was so greasy the bun literally dripped. When the waitress asked why we didn’t eat the food I showed her the large amount of grease on my daughters plate and my dripping bun that was falling apart. I gave her a $10 tip and told her that although the Service was good, we probably wouldn’t be returning. She simply said ok and walked away. Mind you we were dressed very well, they could have cared less about our experience there! Shame on you!!!

By far the best diner around! We eat there often! The food is always amazing and the service is exceptional! The whole staff is super friendly! Even when they are crazy busy they still get your food ready in a very reasonable amount of time! I recommend Pete’s if you want great food at a great price!

Had breakfast at favorite breakfast place today November 14. Today’s breakfast was sausage biscuits and gravy, with home fries, dark chocolate banana muffin grilled and an egg.
It was a nice size portion of sausage biscuits and gravy and home fries, cooked perfectly with a great taste. The service is always good, and the atmosphere pleasant.
In my opinion the best breakfast in the area. Big portions of food. And great service.
Today 3/24/25. Went for breakfast with a family member. We both ordered sausage biscuits and gravy. They were out of biscuits so it came on bread instead, it still had a wonderful taste to it. Also a full order of french toast a half order of corned beef hash.
Today, for breakfast, I ordered three pancakes, with a grilled pumpkin muffin and a half order of corned beef hash. Then I ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage on a roll with home fries to go for lunch later today.
The pancakes practically took up the whole plate. They were very good and filled me up. The grilled pumpkin muffin, even though it was a little dark, still tasted good. The corned beef hash was ok.
The breakfast sandwich later was delicious with good taste.
My waitress was very good.

Definitely give them a chance if you get to.

This place beats “Take a Break Diner” – hands down! This will be new breakfast spot here in Vestal when visiting from Washington State! The food is good, service is hospitable, and overall the general atmosphere is pleasant.

Thank you for the experience!

Exceptional service.

My party (of four) and I originally stopped at Skylark Diner for my husband’s birthday brunch. We were brushed off and rudely asked to wait outside in the cold. We decided to leave.

Then, we chose to stop here. Despite being busy, we were seated immediately. Our waitress was so attentive and hospitable! Our experience here really changed our morning around.

All our food came out in reasonable time. The portions were decent for the price of our meals. I ordered the Western Omelette with whole wheat toast and potato side. And everything tasted delicious and hot. No complaints.

I came here for breakfast a few times. The food is good, I like the rye toast and they season their home-fries better than most other spots. I generally always have a positive experience and certainly with the food, but they had some weird man that clears and cleans tables hovering around uncomfortably wearing gloves and a face mask.
