Bottom Line on Top: A great bar with acceptable bar food.
Pete’s Hard Stop looks very much like a restaurant, but it’s really a very good sports bar that also serves some food. The smashburgers are generous and tasty, the chicken tenders are perfectly cooked if a bit overseasoned, and the frozen fries are a tiny bit sad. The service is excellent, the place is quite literally spotless (a welocme surprise for a sports bar), and the decor is… well, mininmal, very much like the menu. Overall, a great place to hang and a fair-to-middlin place to eat.

We were driving through Smithton and saw this place and a band outside. We made a literal Hard Stop. 4 piece fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans for $12.95 and it was EXCELLENT!
Will be going back even if driving from West St. Louis County!

We had a cheeseburger, double smash burger w/ cheese, chicken tenders, buffalo chicken sandwich and onion rings. Everything was fantastic. The onion rings were great and the quantity was huge.

Coldest Blue Moon and always served with an orange slice at Pete’s. No one has better onion rings – No One. The Jalapeño Mac Cheese Bites are perfect. You won’t find a nicer crowd. Friendliest waitresses. Toby Keith must have wrote his song about this place. I love this bar

Great service and very good homemade food! Smoked turkey has great flavor without a ton of salt. We also like their homemade chips, sauces, specials like ribeye steak sandwich and cajun chicken pasta.

Called in order of 3 fish sandwiches all 11with fries, got home & no fries. Called up there….apparently when you order a fish sandwich with fries you have to say extra fries in order to get fries. For the cost of a fish sandwich fries should have been included. Will not order from there again, very bland fish, more breading than actual fish.
