Having read the critical restaurant reviews before dining at Peter’s II, I did not arrive with the highest of expectations. Some of the criticisms were evident upon arrival, and my first impression was that this would probably be my first on only visit to the establishment. However, the friendliness and politeness of the staff that I interacted with (the chef was a one-man show on this early Friday morning) and the absolute perfection with which my order was cooked completely changed my negative predisposition.  “These eggs are going to be runny or overcooked,” I thought — no, they were perfect. “These home fries are going to be dry and/or tasteless — no, they were perfect. Honestly, I can’t get over how flawlessly my meal was executed — they even brewed a fresh pot of decaf coffee just for me. Yes, the interior is dated, but I have nothing but good things to say about the staff, my meal, and the reasonably-priced breakfast/diner menu that I experienced that day. I would visit Peter’s II again.

Last time I ordered a french toast meal to go, get home, no syrup… this week I ordered a bacon/sausage with double egg and cheese, get home… just a sausage egg and cheese, waste of $10… and on top of that, all the food is plain tasting and very basic… this place is never getting my business again, won’t recommend this place to anyone I know

With friendly employees, great food, and an excellent location, Peter’s II has been a Cheshire mainstay for years. Recently relocated, the new location keeps many of the comforts found at the old location down the road. You can’t go wrong going with anything on the menu!

I’ll give 3.8 — First time here, was driving along Rt. 10 North from Hamden, my dad wanted to stop for lunch. Saw the small sign on right side of the road and gave it a shot. Dad quickly decided he’d order breakfast for lunch, having a short stack of pancakes and his usual cup of decafe coffee. Service was quick, friendly, food was good. I’d certainly dine here again.

Cute breakfast place! Small but not tight seating. Some booths available and some counter seats too. Food is always good! Pancakes and French toast done well! Staff is always friendly and helpful. They didn’t even over charge when egg prices increased! Coffee is really good too. Open til 3pm. Great lunch specials. Good menu selections.

The food here ranges from kind of okay to pretty bad, everything we got with the exception of the pancakes was overcooked. Hash browns were burned and the cook has no idea how to properly cook an egg. You can have scrambled or over easy and if you order over easy the eggs will have a crispy burned edge and your yoke will be over cooked. The service is okay but the waitress we had was rude and could barely understand English. She also reprimanded my 8 and 5 year old for playing with the condiments. My kids will always remember the time that woman said “you no play with the jelly’s” and snatched packets of Smuckers out of their hands. Ridiculous. Seems like this place is hanging in by a thread due to a loyal following of retired folks. Inside the atmosphere is dated, plants hanging from the ceiling, pretty gross looking. I’ll never go back here and I would laugh in the face of anyone who suggested it.
