I grabbed some lunch at this small restaurant on a Sunday. There are only 4-5 tables to eat in, so perhaps most of their business is take out. They request cash unless you purchase over $15. I ordered shrimp with snow peas, and rice and an egg roll came with it. It met my needs for a quick lunch.

Peter’s has been here since mid 80s. Although I’ve passed by here many times, this was my first time dining here.

Peter’s Chinese is the place to go on this side of town for delicious Chinese take out. I always get the chicken teriyaki with fried rice and their egg rolls. They hook you up with plenty of food to feed you twice. Their house made teriyaki sauce is legit. They are friendly inside, but keep in mind they are super busy! Everyone there works so hard to get your food ready as fast as possible. I respect their hustle and try to tip them well when I can.

The lack of cleanliness was a little off-putting upon walking in but was willing to look past that.. however we had two hairs in our food and we had multiple flies flying around us as we were trying to enjoy our meal. With that being said, the General Tao’s chicken was one of the best I’ve had- the sauce was absolutely delicious. Beef and broccoli was good, vegetable lo mein was okay. Our server was extremely friendly. Overall, it was a alright dining experience but probably wouldn’t return due to clear lack of sanitation practices.

I really like Peter’s Chinese Cafe and order to-go frequently. It’s the best Chinese food I’ve had in the palatable food desert that is Colorado. 1 star off because the rice is always dry, but it’s not the worst thing ever. Peter’s got a great scathing (good) sense of humor. Also estimates for food pick-up have always been accurate and short in my experience.

New to Denver, ordered for delivery to the Milo Apts. Excellent food. Super fast delivery. Would not take cash because I was a “first time customer”. That was a little weird, but whatever. Will order again.

$150 HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE for such an amazing place I loved was so sad. I originally found this place through a friend and their veggie lo mein was the absolute hands down best I had ever had. The tofu was surprisingly juicy and delicious. I decided to tell my coworkers about it and we ordered around $150 worth of food. When we picked it up everything tasted like it had been sitting around for a while and old. The tofu was basically fried, dry, and gross. I was so embarrassed to receive such a disgusting order especially after raving about how great their food was. I was so surprised they would allow such a large order to be sent like that. Needless to say we will not be ordering from there again.

Amazing food and great staff. Food is always hot, delicious and a great takeout spot. It’s an awesome meal that won’t break your bank. I would highly recommend Peter’s to anyone looking for a good spot in town for Chicken Fried Dumplings!

Peter’s Chinese Cafe is a reliable standby for Americanized Chinese food in Congress Park. It’s got the lunch specials, the huge menu, and the familiar character of a long-running neighborhood restaurant. It may not be the best Chinese town (except for maybe the Sesame Chicken WOW!) but it does the job respectably and consistently.

Really love this food here, but so frustrated with the service. Picked up take out the other day and realized they overcharged me by $20. I figured it was a mistake and went back to have them correct it. When I returned they told me their prices are subject to change despite the fact that both their online menu and physical menu listed the same prices. They are welcome to change their prices, but they at least have to tell me what those prices are and reflect them on their menu. Sadly, I suspect they are overcharging many folks without them realizing as the first time I picked up take out, we mentioned they had miscalculated and they quickly fixed it. Will not be back.
