Wow! Place has daily lunch specials ranging from 6-$9 w tea. We had the chicken fried steak & tender plate . Side of onion rings All was delish sides were okay and were lukewarm. All staff seemed very friendly . Place was super busy parked across the street at the convenient store. We will be back. Wish this place was open on weekends so my husband can try it. Only open till 3pm M-Fri

Lunch gets very packed. Be very ready to share a table with someone or stand in line to wait for one. But, it is very well worth it! Everything was delicious. The price point is phenomenal! The staff is so friendly.

Are you kidding me?!! !! All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very clean, well laid out, and comfortable. But, the food…the food is amazing!! After looking at all the photos in the reviews, I decided to start with the chicken fried steak plate, and was not disappointed. The portions are plentiful, the sides are fresh (not canned), the gravy was good, and it was hot all the way back to work. I picked up some chicken soft tacos for my coworker, and she melted when she tried it. The salsa was good, she said, but set her on fire. Lol. It looks smaller from the outside, so you wouldn’t know what an incredible experience you can have on the inside. And, by the way, I don’t go back to places if their tea tasted “weird”. Theirs is perfect. My new go-to lunch spot, and likely everybody I work with too! !

Do you shy away from asking any more about where to get a really good chicken fried steak locally? First you have to dodge the slings and arrows of outraged readers that are disgusted to see that question posted one more time in addition to the past 236 posts asking the same thing. Secondly you have to decipher 57 differing opinions of who has the best in town based on folks with palates similar to yours but also those who think you are talking about chicken that is fried like a steak. If you end up conquering both these obstacles give yourself a pat on the back.

I had been seeing recommendations for a while now about a location that seemed just another roll-up-the-carpet at 2pm mom & pop tex-mex cocina. Well they are that, but I read where they also had an $8.50 CFS plate on Monday. Yeah. OK Probably a frozen filet of breaded chewbone with pasty gravy. I was intrigued enough, however, to see what this Mexican kitchen could do to engender the numerous bragging entries I had seen posted.

The CFS plate came with a choice of 2 sides including kernel corn, over-cooked green beans, skins on mashed potatoes and seasoned cream gravy or roaring hot french fries and a roll. When the waitress rounded the bend from the kitchen she was deftly balancing two loaded platters on one arm and drinks in another. And let me tell you, the hub cap sized fried meat beauty resting there was nearly shoving the sides off the plate.

Now, I think I will stop at this point in incomplete summation to inject a modicum of mystery into a story where you have not been led by the nose to a particular conclusion in your own cfs vetting. Instead you are urged to perform due diligence in making your own decision as to whether or not to visit the place. One last word . . . the couple that accompanied us for lunch ordered 2 more CFS dinners to go. Enough said. P.S. the Chicken Fried Chicken is the reverse side of this golden fried, good as a gold coin duo.

Daily specials! Today is Friday and this one of those daily specials: chicken tenders with a tea!!! I was surprised because I haven’t seen “chicken tenders” like these in ages!!! This plate came with 4 chicken tenders jus like this one!!! I LOVE IT!! AND it was delicious!!! This is not a chicken tender this is other restaurant’s chicken fried chicken!!!

Chicken fried steak was good for the price (the steak was a little thin). My total bill was $14.99, with the to-go tea and tip. But overall it had good flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly. It is a good size portion.

Nice local restaurant with lunch bargans you cant go wrong (including a large tea) We ordered the Crispy Taco plate and the Chicken Fried Steak. Both were very good and fresh. We will add this to our return locations. Everything was fresh. Only drawback is parking. You have to search the area around the building due to the very limited spaces. But, we’ll be back.

Apologies for not getting a picture of the untouched burger but I was hungry and couldn’t wait. Before I remembered to take a pic of a new-to-me burger hide away I had eaten about half but still wanted to give it
justice for being hot, big and good. And for serving plump crinkly fries in an era where too many comply with the thin and flat. Red beans and rice didn’t miss the burger or fries.

First time visiting here. I tried the Chicken fried steak, it was a large portion and it was very flavorful. My partner had beef and chicken chalupas and had a lot of flavor and were loaded with meat.
