Best breakfast we had during our stay in NYC! We ate here the morning before flying out. They kindly stored our luggage while we ate. Our server was very nice and brought our food SUPER fast! All food was expertly prepared and delicious The Oatmeal and eggs benedict were amazing. Definitely get a booth with a window on either side of the restaurant to watch the passers-by!

We were looking for a late lunch spot. This place caught our attention and we were quickly seated in a great window booth.

Service was quick — there were few other diners at our off-hour mid-afternoon craving. We ordered a chicken bacon club to split along with a salad and fries.

The ordering was the high point. Well, the fries were those yummy thin fries that arrived pretty hot, screaming Eat Me! The sandwich had no flavor. I mean: At All. Maybe I tasted some wheat in that bread. Maybe not. Salt helped. But it was lacking any semblance of real food.

Meanwhile, in our great booth seat we watched the cascading line outside of Los Tacos No. 1. Even mid-day that place was hopping. I doubt we would have gotten such a great place to sit, but we would have likely eaten food that had some umph to it.

So…go for drinks! Or maybe the breakfasts others rave about. But in my experience, this in decidedly not the spot for an off-hours lunch.

We visited this restaurant for breakfast during our first visit to New York City. They have amazing fresh squeezed orange juice. I had the eggs Benedict and they were very good. My daughter had an omelette and she enjoyed it very much. The service was a bit slow, but they were busy so it was understandable.

Our favorite place for breakfast, brunch and lunch in Midtown. We’ve been dining here for 25 years and they never let us down.

My wife’s favorite is the Egg Benedict with Salmon. My go to is French Toast in the morning hours or a burger in the afternoon.

Atmospheres is amazing, service is always solid and the location can’t be beat.

The End of an Era (insert tear here!)
As a frequent visitor to Grand Central Terminal, I have been dining at Pershing Square Cafe for more than 20 years. I order the same thing every time, the pancakes, because they are (were) literally the best I have ever had! They even used to have a small, unadorned sign saying “World’s Best Pancakes” in the front window. Unlike the “best coffee” sign in Elf, this statement was true! But today, I found out that they no longer serve this New York treasure. I was given an order of pancakes that I could get at any local diner or bagel shop. Instead of the thin, delicate, yet fluffy ones they always served, I received very plain, thick pancakes, and to add possible injury (salmonella) to insult, they were undercooked! I sent them back and got the waffle instead, which was “meh.” If anyone out there was an aficionado of these classic PSC pancakes, please add your voice here, or write your congressperson! This aggression will not stand. I will attach photos of the ridiculous and the sublime (The one with the powdered sugar is the original. They even took away the powdered sugar now!)

The waffle was soft and tasty, but the downside is that it wasn’t crispy as expected.
Prices are slightly on the higher side, however the service was fast and there was no waiting time, which is a big plus.
Overall, a good experience and a nice spot for a quick, relaxed breakfast.

My first time at Pershing Square and I was not disappointed! I ordered the fettuccine pasta with vegetables in a pesto sauce for lunch and it was amazing. The portion was generous and I ate the whole thing! Food baby! The service was great. As a matter fact, we had several servers and they were all very polite, friendly. Decent prices too. My entreé was $22. The only thing I didn’t care for was how loud it was! Overall, I highly recommend Pershing Square for a business lunch, out with friends, maybe not a first date if you want to talk and get to know each other.

Thank you for making the fish and chips . We were tired after a lot of walking and were looking for something we can eat on a Friday Lent . I asked about the fish and chips that aren’t on the dinner menu , without much further thinking the manager approached us and said you can make them for us . We appreciate that so much . Every server was outstanding.

Great place to eat and visit grand central station opposite. Food was not cheap but then neither was the quality of the food and service – so we felt it was worth the money and experience. Lovely cozy and old world feel but very busy and fairly noisy. We manage to time it right with a visit around 830 as it was starting to fill up by the time we left. I would recommend and visit again should we get the opportunity to visit NYC again.
