We love Perkins and the main reason is because of the amazing service. From top to bottom, front to back they are so amazing. We especially loved the service given to us by our waitress Tiana, she was so please t, nice and helpful. She really gave us a great start to our day.

We had the pleasure of being served by Kaylaa, and she was absolutely amazing. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. She checked on us regularly, made sure our drinks were refilled, and had such a positive attitude that it truly elevated our dining experience. Kaylaa’s service was easily the highlight of our visit.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the same standard. While it tasted okay at best, the presentation was very disappointing. The dishes looked like they had simply been thrown onto the plates without any care or attention to detail. It definitely took away from the overall experience.
If it weren’t for Kaylaa’s exceptional service, our visit would have been much less enjoyable. She deserves recognition for doing such a wonderful job, even though the kitchen missed the mark.

Rose has been our server a few times and knows what kind of people we are. If the restaurant is empty we do enjoy to chitchat and joke around a little. She is quite good at what she does and has definitely earned the place she’s at right now. I enjoy coming to Perkins and look forward to her being our server. Sharing my engagement with her was fun and it felt like I was telling a friend good news rather than just speaking to someone who could care less, which is exactly what I love to find in my server.

Stopped in for supper, around 7. It did not appear to be busy. We were told there was about a 15 minute wait. That’s not bad, so we waited. The wait time was about 30 minutes. The time we waited to order was a reasonable amount of time. I ordered pancakes and sausage. The wife ordered a breakfast platter. After about 40 minutes we were in the process of getting up to leave when our server brought our food. I mentioned to her we were just getting ready to leave, she did apologize for the delay. I asked if the food was fresh, she said it was just made. I ate my sausage, they were a little slimy. The pancakes were cold and hard. I opted to not eat them. The wife’s meal was ok. The server did comp the meal. Her name wes Jersie.
She was a good server. At one point we heard her tell another customer, unfortunately there is no manager on duty.
Clearly we were not the first to complain.
Will not be eating there the next time we are in Brookings.
