Food was good but that was best part of experience. Got to Perkins at 9:50am. Was seated right away. but had to wait awhile to place our drink order so we also placed our food order. At 10:20 our drinks were brought to us, 30 minutes after getting there. I had an appointment at 11:15 so we thought we had plenty of time but boy was I wrong. At 10:40 2ife asked about our food and was told it will be coming she can only go as fast as kitchen. According to phone our food came to our table at 10:49. So basically an hour to get food. Since still had to drive across town to make appointment we scarfed food down and left. And for entire time we were there no drink refills so empty soda glass for me and water for wife, she ordered coffee and a glass of water but never got coffee, but no refills entire time. If place was busy I could understand, but where we were seated only 3 tables counting ours and guy across from us was on his computer not eating so place was not busy. Mens restroom when we got there looked like someone had paper towel fight, paper towels everywhere. As wife was paying for us to leave I went back to restroom and it looked exact same over an hour later. Worst experience at a Perkins I have ever had

Had breakfast, food was really good and came out speedy. Our waitress was new but did very well with getting our orders and then took care that we had everything we needed once the food came out. Would definitely visit again and recommend it to others.

Nice Cajun whitefish & shrimp, on tasty rice with asparagus. Really enjoyed meal. Serving staff was short, so took a bit longer than expected. Most importantly the food was excellent. I’ll go back next time I’m in town.

I had such a wonderful experience at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery! From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent throughout my visit. The food came out quickly, hot, and fresh — everything tasted homemade and comforting. Our server Sarah was very attentive and made us feel very invited. Their breakfast menu is unbeatable, and the bakery selection is absolutely delicious (the pies are a must-try!).
The restaurant was clean and inviting, making it a relaxing place to enjoy a meal. You can tell they really care about their customers, because every detail — from the friendly smiles to the perfectly brewed coffee — made the visit special. Staff was fantastic and had great knowledge of the menu. She (Megan)gave a great suggestion on the special menu of the pot roast burger combo. It was amazing. The manager Jesse stopped by our table and asked if there was anything else he could do to make our dinning experience any more enjoyable. Great store. Just passing through Fort dodge, will definitely make this our go to restaurant when traveling in this area.

I really loved the food, and the waitstaff was ok.. What one wasn’t doing another made up for it. Biggest issue for me is the lack of cleaning the vents on the ceiling. They are caked with yuck and havent been cleaned in a while. The place in general wasnt the cleanest but don’t look up when you’re eating if you want to choose to eat there. It’s a shame because the food really is good. Praying they clean it!

This is a great place for breakfast at a reasonable price and the menu has so many options. The only downfall is the slow service. Our waiter was great and we could tell he was busy.. maybe they were short on staff. The kid’s breakfast meal is only $5.99 and it comes with quite a bit of food – even a cookie and a drink. The thing that sets this apart from other breakfast joints are the special breakfasts… Boston creme pancakes, cinnamon sugar french toast, etc.

Place was empty, should have been my first clue. Waited 8 minutes to be seated. The hostess was watching me from the other end of the room probably hoping I would leave. Should have. Food took over 25 minutes. It was breakfast , omelet and potatoes and pancakes. Very disappointed. I like Perkins when I travel. I will skip the one in Fort Dodge, Iowa
