I visited Perkins on November 12 to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and we were seated in the back room. The experience was a mix of highs and lows. Our server seemed a little disengaged, and when my friend asked for a simple substitution for the bacon on her plate, she was told no outright — no alternative option, no upcharge offered. She doesn’t eat pork, and since this was her first time at this Perkins, the lack of flexibility left her disappointed. I don’t think she’d return based on that experience.
On the positive side, one person at our table ordered the turkey dinner, and it looked absolutely bountiful and delicious. She said it tasted great, and I’d gladly order it myself if I go back. I had a hamburger, which was wonderful, and for dessert I treated myself to a slice of lemon meringue pie — hands down the best I’ve had in years. Kudos to Perkins for consistently delivering top-notch pie!
I’ve written a very positive review for this location in the past, but my last two visits haven’t quite met the standard I’m used to. The staff seems tired, and the cleanliness could use a little attention. With so many breakfast options in North Port, I hope this Perkins finds its stride again, because I’ve enjoyed many good meals here over the years.

Staff is very friendly, food on the other hand is sub par. The sweet tea was the worse I’ve ever had. I think it was just water with brown sugar. I thought I’d get a home cooked meal here…..it did not materialize. My broccoli and turkey were ok. The turkey stuffing seemed like some boxed concoction and the rice pilaf is something I’d refuse to give to an animal, much less serve to a human. I won’t go back!

I came in there this past Friday, and had such amazing service by 2 wonderful young ladies. Jahzara, and Marissa. There was 15 people in our party, and these girls worked so hard to accommodate us. Service was excellent. They were kind and courteous. Extremely professional! Clearly, they were short staffed, and were running around doing every position possible. They continued to smile, and were so pleasant. If you had a few more just like them, you’d be the best restaurant in town! These girls deserve recognition for being outstanding employees, and you are very blessed to have them as part of your team!

Our server was great! The hostest needs to be retrained. Open table and a full lobby waiting to be seated, then seating almost the whole waiting area in one swoop. This caused so many issues which contributed to our food being almost 50mins before it came out. Our waitress was great and gave us free warm muffins to compensate until our food arrived. When we were seated the table was clean but the seats and under were messy, we even located a pair of glasses under the table. The location wear and tear could use some sprucing. All our meals were correct and great. They have adequate pricing too.

Overall it was really good. Everything was nice. Only thing we didn’t care for were the squeaky green beans. They squeak against your teeth when you try to chew them. Two adults, nice time, 36 bucks. Can’t beat that. Minus the green beans being squeaky, I’d have given 5 stars. Will definitely return

We had an amazing breakfast experience at Perkins. The service was wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. Frank was our server, and he truly made the experience exceptional with his kindness and great attention to detail. The manager was also very kind and welcoming, which really stood out and added to the positive atmosphere. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed to start the day. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back! ☀️

The food was great! We ordered the cheeseburger special. The fries were crispy and hot, the bun was toasted just right and the peanut butter silk pie was impeccable! Only thing better was our waitress Robin! Very helpful and funny!

I’m a Perkins fan but this location needs improvement. Came into the restaurant empty for dinner and still had to wait an obnoxiously long time with a manager prioritizing a phone call over seating us. Very bad first impression.
I got the Butterball Turkey dinner with rice and green beans with bacon. The turkey and sage stuffing was moist and flavorful. This was the only saving grace and the reason why I rated 3 and not 2.
The rice was one of the worst things I have ever tasted, just flavorless, mushy, and gross. Either the cook messed up the rice or they need to get another version asap! Green beans with bacon was not good either, bacon was not good or crispy, it was soggy. Cranberry sauce was somehow worse than typical canned and extremely tiny portion.
Waitress or manager never bothered to really check to see how our food was, just a very quick pass by. If either did I would have sent the rice back for fries.
Manager needs to learn that nobody wants to wait by the front to be seated when the restaurant is empty and that I don’t care about your payment processing problems and it would probably make sense to ask how your customer’s food was when you cash them out.
