Visiting Perennial restaurant was an absolute delight—my first time there, and it exceeded every expectation. My wife had dined there shortly after it opened and found it merely okay, but when we returned together a few months later, she was blown away by the remarkable transformation from solid to spectacular. The space itself is stunningly beautiful, with impeccable service, a warm and inviting ambience, and dishes bursting with flavor and creativity. You can truly feel the passion poured into every detail. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable meal.

Perennial rates as one of our top dining experiences. It was our wedding anniversary and we looked for someplace special while visiting in Montgomery AL. We would rarely spend $$$ at a restaurant but we were thrilled that we did for this occasion. A real gem in farm-to-table dining. The menu changes seasonally. The sourcing Alabama farms are listed on the menu. Even cocktails made with locally sourced liquors and ingredients! Sophia and Marshall were warm, welcoming hosts with the perfect amount of conversation.

Perennial was ok. I didn’t quite understand the theme but after talking to the owner I kinda get, perennial means Eve lasting and all materials in the store are locally sources and reused including silver wear. I the food is southern themed and the ambiance is forestry themed. Not really my style but I did enjoy something different. I love the city of Montgomery Alabama, and I love that this restaurant is here.

I enjoyed the cozy and semi private atmosphere. It definitely feels like you’re in another place carved out of history, while maintaining an air of sophistication that feels like home. The staff were amazingly attentive and thorough. They presented a servants heart. I got the notion that there was passion behind every act.
The menu was a bevy of their take on familiar staples as well as items I had not had the pleasure to try but would come back in hopes of getting. I loved the idea of sourcing from local farms.
Every item was “chef’s kiss”. The portions, temperature, texture, and flavor were all there for me. The perennial salad, and soup of the day were delicious. I have been daydreaming about the brown butter pasta to this day. I even squeezed in a little dessert. It did not disappoint. Give it a try. I’d hope your experience is as delightful.

Everything here was a 10/10! Absolutely loved the ambiance – great for a special dinner and the vibe was perfect. We also loved everything we ordered and the drinks were amazing. The entire staff was excellent, too. Really cannot recommend this place enough!

Hosted a corporate holiday luncheon at Perennial. We were a small group of 18, and it was a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. It is so hard to find a place for a group like this in town and working with Deanne and her team was a breeze. She worked with me on the menu and any dietary restrictions in advance. Everyone raved about the food and it was nice to be able sit and chat with your team and actually hear everyone! We took care of all the details in advance, so we just had to show up, relax, and enjoy.
I have been here personally for dinner many times and the food and drink are top notch. Highly recommend for small, private gatherings and cozy nights out with friends.

One of the best dining experiences!! Local, sustainable farm to table meals. The cocktails were delicious. All the appetizers were amazing. The meals were exquisite. The desserts were delectable. Wish I lived in Alabama so I could continue to try the rotating menu. We need more places like this! The restaurant is super cute and cozy and the staff are so friendly! Even got to learn about the history of the house. Very cool!!

Perennial is by far the most comfortable and cozy restaurant I have ever been to. Their decoration choices absolutely benefit their guests and the atmosphere. The choices they made for the establishment from the wallpapers, all the way down to the silverware, are nothing less than outstanding.

The service provided was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so friendly and made myself and my fiance feel right at home as though we were family coming by for a visit. They were very descriptive of every dish and what meals paired well with certain drinks.

And last, but not least. The food. Food does not begin to describe how wonderful the experience was. The first thing each guest should know when coming here is that a large amount of all ingredients and beverages are all sourced from right here in alabama. The menu is formatted in such a great way as to explain which distributer provides ingredients that go into each meal. It is amazing how deep the relationship between a restaurant and its partners goes.

My fiance had the satsuma honey chicken, and I had some of the seasons very last heirloom pumpkin soup. The meal brought back so many memories, and made me feel like a kid again. I was excited for each and every bite! And I think at the end of the meal my fiance put it best: don’t cry now that it’s over, be happy it happened in the first place.

Addendum!: I have been back to Perennial multiple times since I first made this review, and I have to tell you, it keeps getting better!
They have a mostly winter time menu currently running and I had the cornmeal biscuits with honey butter and pumpkin jam, as well as the tuscan soup, with an order of sweet potato gnocchi.

The meal was absolutely fantastic once again, and the gnocchi was a standout favorite. Perfect temp, outstanding flavor and the plating is absolutely gorgeous. Please don’t pass up an opportunity to eat here. You will never leave disappointed!

Secondary addendum: just went back again last night, and they keep getting better and better! I swear I don’t know how they do it! I will say the restaurant was packed, but they kept everything coming out as fast as possible, and with as much quality as always! It’s absolutely fantastic to see the restaurant doing so well!

I love food, and because of my work I travel all over and this was one reason f the best dinners I had ever, wish we will have a place like this in Miami. Sourcing the ingredients locally makes a huge difference. Feels like you are eating in Europe, every ingredient is so full of flavor. I was a big fun of central but this place is way better. Can’t wait to be back in Montgomery!
