I’ve been to Peppercorn Station multiple times, and it’s one of those places I keep coming back to for a proper, comforting meal.

The dish I never skip is their green peppercorn fish. It comes out as a whole, generously sized fish, and the meat is incredibly tender. The broth is savory and fragrant without being overpowering, and it’s the kind of dish that naturally makes you eat more rice than you planned. As someone who grew up near the coast and is picky about fish, this one really delivers.

The roasted duck in chili broth was another highlight, the portion was much larger than expected, with plenty of duck and vegetables. It’s not just visually impressive; it’s genuinely filling. I was also pleasantly surprised by the brown sugar rice cakes. I don’t usually like desserts that are too sweet, but these were chewy, balanced, and easy to finish.

Other dishes like the pork trotter soup were comforting and well-cooked, and the staff even helped separate the meat, which made eating much easier. Portions here are consistently large, and we almost always end up taking leftovers home.

Located near Grove St station, it’s very convenient, and the atmosphere feels welcoming for all ages, couples, families, and friends alike. A solid spot for a satisfying, no-stress meal.

It’s been such a long time since I last dined in at Peppercorn Station, and it did not disappoint. The mala spicy crawfish is an absolute must-order, so flavorful and seriously addictive. I also tried the tofu pudding beef for the first time today, and it was such a pleasant surprise. Super tasty and perfect with rice. Definitely recommend!

I’m absolutely flabbergasted by the quality of food here, especially after seeing the long line and the good reviews online. This is NOT authentic chinese food. Do me a favor and just cross the tunnel to Chinatown.

If you are JC local, just go to Jiangnan, taste of north china, chengdu 1, anything is better than this.

A super solid Sichuan spot in Jersey City! The ambience has a lovely a blend of traditional touches and modern style, complete with live singers in the back that make the space feel warm and lively. The food was nuanced and well-seasoned without leaning too spicy or oily. Highlights included the enoki and peppercorn beef, the spicy whole fish, and the tofu stir-fry, all balanced and deeply flavorful. A refined take on Sichuan cuisine and a genuinely enjoyable meal.

I recently visited Peppercorn Station in Jersey City after hearing great things from friends, and the restaurant genuinely surprised me.

I highly recommend the Beef Tripe and Duck Blood Tofu (毛血旺). The portion was generous for the price, and all the ingredients were very fresh.

I also enjoyed the Clear Noodles (川北凉粉) as an appetizer and the Bingfen(冰粉) for dessert. Both tasted authentically Sichuan.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the live music was definitely a bonus. I really recommend this place!

Great Sichuan restaurant in New Jersey!Quite authentic with good amount of choices. Can adjust spicy level. Environment is great for gathering and date but needs reservations for weekends.

I came here with friends for a casual dinner. This is a big plus: it’s a BYOB spot, and you can’t beat the convenience—there’s a liquor store right across the street! That makes planning a spontaneous dinner really easy.
As expected with its Jersey City location, we did have to park a bit of a distance away, so factor in a little extra walking time. The food itself was decent and satisfying for our group. It’s not a must-try for culinary excellence, but it’s a perfectly good, reliable place for a fun night out with friends where you want to enjoy your own drinks.

The fish we got was amazing! It was well seasoned and the fish was fresh. Make sure you dip it in the sauce to get the best flavor. The truffle cauliflower was tasty too.
