This restaurant which is attached to Forest Hill Wines is nothing short of outstanding. A small but well thought out menu and executed extremely well. The Chargrilled Octopus was great as was the Lamb Backstrap as entrees. We both chose the Beef Eye Fillet. For desert we chose the Panacotta and Chocolate Namelaka. It was amazing food and the service was excellent. The views from the restaurant was great and added to the atmosphere. Very highly recommended.

Just wow! We came on a recommendation and everything was just DELICIOUS. From the house bubbles to the tuna/duck. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in ages. Our waitress was a gem and our table had the prettiest outlook, felt we’d great seats. A lot of people there celebrating big Birthdays, seemed like the perfect place for a treat on a special day. Can’t recommend enough!!!

All I can say wow. We came in February 2025 for our anniversary. I raved so much about the restaurant my friends gave me a gift voucher for my birthday. I had the calamari and my husband had the duck. I like the menu they do for children, my granddaughter had delicious curry from the kids menu. Wow what a dessert ,I thought I had gone to heaven and back , I will never forget this experience. Thank you to the chef and the staff . Next time I visit Denmark I will definitely come there

A space that soothes the soul! Breathtaking views at the large window overlooking the valleys and looking straight across to the karri’s. The food was more than fuel – it was art – leaving a lingering impression on all 5 senses. Our time at Pepper & Salt gave us the gift of space on our wedding anniversary that allowed us to leave the world behind us at the car park and enter another world where nothing existed but the two of us – hosted by the incredibly attentive and exceptional service.

A recent trip to the Great Southern region of WA saw us seeking a venue for a winery lunch. Pepper and Salt Restaurant at Forest Hill Winery just outside Denmark piqued our interest and after sampling some of the lovely cool climate wines at the Forest Hill Cellar Door we headed upstairs to the restaurant. The bright, airy and light-filled dining room looks out over vineyards and paddocks to the surrounding forest providing a picturesque setting for a leisurely lunch. We’d opted for the 4-course ‘Trust the Chef’ menu which avoided the dilemma of having to choose from the small (4 entrees, 4 mains, 3 desserts) but impressive menu for ourselves. We enjoyed four plates of wonderful food; each dish was well-crafted and beautifully presented and serving sizes were generous. A wide selection of estate wines were available by the glass for those who wanted to pair wine and food or by the bottle for those with a Forest Hill favourite. For those with a preference for other types of beverage, there were plenty of alternatives. Charming and knowledgeable front-of-house staff complemented the efforts of the brigade in the kitchen to serve one fantastic dish after another. It was extra-special to see Head Chef Silas Masih taking the time during what was a very busy Valentine’s Day service to circulate and chat to the diners. Everyone went all out to make our dining experience as special as it could be; in fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked again for lunch the following day so that we could sample the rest of the menu. The repeat visit was just as enjoyable. Without a doubt, Pepper and Salt will be on the itinerary next time we head ‘down south’.

The ambience and food were lovely. We went there for lunch and the entree was yum. The chef came around and spoke with guests, which was nice. The blonde lady who served us was very sweet. Overall it was a 10 out of 10 experience

We had no expectations of finding a table because everything was booked, but we went to a wine tasting at the vineyard anyway. It is connected to the restaurant and we were lucky to find a table available.
The menu was interesting. I don’t know if it’s like that, but I got a hint of Indian cuisine.I don’t know how often they change the menu, but two courses were 80 and three courses were $90.
Thanks to the waiters and waitresses

Delicious food & fantastic views with great wine! What a great lunch. The food was spot on, when you get one scallop you want it to be perfect, which it was. The eye fillet was perfectly cooked and the jus amazing. We asked the chef about it & he took the time to explain how it was made. It takes 5 days to make! The Spanish Mackerel
was very well cooked and the cheese board had great cheeses with figs and chutneys. The crackers/poppadums slightly overpowered the cheese so I ate them separately. Forest Hill wine went brilliantly with the food.
