Went to Pepes for my Birthday on Feb. 20th, and the staff was amazing, the food was great, and the margarita was on sale which is always a plus! The whole staff sang to me and gave me a sombrero to wear like they always do, but I’ll tell ya what, it never gets old. They also gave me free fried icecream because it was my Bday. I absolutely love Pepes, and I have no complaints whatsoever. ❤️ Thank you for a great Birthday dinner, guys!

Every time I try to give this place a chance they disappoint me! Their hours are all over the place. It says that they close at 9pm. I get there at 8:24pm and they said they are closed. Once in the summer, I met up with a childhood friend and we had lunch. We stood outside catching up and the owner came outside and poured water on the sidewalk right where we were standing as if he was cleaning the sidewalk. Very rude! We were not loud or mistreating the property. Just two friends chit chatting and he poured steaming hot water directly where we were standing. Yes the food is good but you should respect your paying customers. This was the last strike!!!

Service was friendly and accommodating. Food didn’t taste like much. I got steak tacos. Didn’t rise above frozen dinner really. Not gonna lie, margaritas really help with the atmosphere, and they don’t serve them here. Might be an Indiana thing. Regardless, three stars “It’s okay” is about right. I’d go if a group of my friends was going, but I won’t be back otherwise.

I don’t say this lightly…this was by a wide margin the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to, and not typical of other Pepe’s locations.
The mild salsa they bring to the table is literally tomato soup concentrate without the water added. The taste is unmistakable and just plain gross.
Did mention they don’t serve margaritas?
The tacos came in paper wrappers on a plate with spanish rice (topped with a dollop of tomato soup concentrate!) And refried beans.
My wife couldnt finish her meal it was so awful. I ate about 1/2 of mine.
The waiter was great. The people working there are doing the best the can with terrible food.
It’s really bad. Really surprised Pepe’s lets this go on because it’s catastrophic to their brand.

Was not too impressed, The salsa tasted like tomato soup and the rest of the food was pretty bland. However this place was inexpensive so I guess u get what you pay for.

Not sure if its a recent change in staff, but compared to 6 months ago the service and food are now excellent. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some mexican comfort food and dont want to drop a paycheck on your meal ticket. Chicken burrito suizo dinner for the meal and the picture is of the appetizer Bonita chica. Very tasty selections. If you have room for dessert i recommend the flan. Not many places can make flan actually taste right so dont miss out on this traditional dessert if you can.

So the food was a little bit different than what I remembered when I used to go there as a kid. I will say that they used to serve simply the warm salsa on the table, but this time there was a cold salsa as well, that was not as good in my opinion. Also, the chips taste different than they used to. I don’t know if it’s a different brand or if they just use a different type of oil to fry them, but they tasted a little more commercial and less homemade. The beans were good. I think the rice had a lot of onion in it, and I was not a fan of large chunks of onion.
Overall, the food was decent, it wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t bad. My brother really enjoyed his burrito. He said it was phenomenal.
I had soft corn quesadillas, and I’m surprised they were cooked that way. Usually, they are cooked with some type of oil or something to make them a little soft. But the tortillas felt very dry.
The server was nice. She was on top of her stuff. I wish I would have had a couple more refills, but not a big deal.
The ambiance was nice as well. It was clean. The bathroom was clean, so that was important.
