My birthday dinner was picked up by my husband. I live several miles away and had to work on my birthday , do my husband wanted to have dinner waiting for me when i got home and it was amazing! The portion size for take out was b ok and the samosas I wish we got more than 2 per order but they were very good. Give 5 stars all the way. It was pick up not delivery so not sure why $10 tip was automatically added to my meal online.. if I would’ve given more in person..

We went here few days ago and the food was decent, the curries taste good but I feel like it were overprice for what you get. The chicken in my curry was a little bit dry. They also have a buffet but we didn’t tried it because we wanted to order specific dishes. The service was nice but me and my friend both thought the portions should be bigger for how much they charging. The atmosphere is okay but nothing special, just some basic tables and decorations. Might come back for the lunch buffet to see if thats a better deal, but probably won’t be doing dinner again.

This restaurant is a treasure! Located in the burgeoning and diverse Pittsburgh neighborhood of Garfield, the buffet, from 1130am to 230pm M-S, is not to be missed. People’s is a small venue with no waiting area and today we arrived at 145pm to find every table filled. The wait was worth every minute! There are both vegan and meat-based options, mostly gluten free. The bread was incredible and nothing was too spicy, just delicious and perfectly seasoned. Dessert and coffee is included and large bottles of water are provided on each table. The tables are very close together but both customers and staff are friendly and polite. Every visit to Pittsburgh will now include People’s!

I’ve been going to People’s for over a decade. Whether it’s the lunch buffet, the standard dinner menu, or takeout — the food and service is seriously top notch. We got takeout last night, and some actual quotes from the dinner table were “Wow!” and “They really hit it out of the park on this one!”

I don’t know why I bother to try other Indian restaurants in Pittsburgh, because they always fall short when I compare them to People’s. We’ve tried many items on their large menu, but my favorites are the lamb korma and chana saag. Also, do yourself a favor and order peshwari naan next time you’re there!

Went for lunch with a friend for the lunch buffet and though we got there in the last 30 or 40 minutes, they still have plenty of fresh options on the buffet. Everything I had was good and I really enjoyed the mango lassi they had available as well.

Buffet price was reasonable as well and definitely worth it for lunch

People’s is my favorite Indian Restaurant in Pittsburgh. Tonight we got the Gobhi Manchurian and Vegetable Samosa’s for appetizers. Both were delicious, especially the Gobi Manchurian. My meal was Chicken Makhni and it was one the best things I’ve ever ordered here. Highly recommend. Dessert was their Kheer rice pudding. I love this so much and order it every time I visit. Its light but full of flavor and perfect to finish off the meal. If you haven’t tried People’s Indian yet, give it a shot!

We love eating here. The food is always fresh, hot, and incredibly consistent.

I usually get the chicken tikka masala at a level 7 and my family gets the vindaloo or chicken tikka. It’s always perfect. The garlic naan is also another favorite along with the samosas.

There are bunch of other menu options, but we gravitate to these choices.

Edit: Had buffet again, much better, food seems very fresh and good taste wise… worth the price of about &16 with tax…

Decent indian cuisine , not the best one I had in Pittsburgh… paneer seems tasteless , not of quality and they use tofu in peas gravy instead of paneer …$16 buffet seems overpriced for what they offer, I would rather have $20 buffet at Tajmahal.. table seating space is limited and the service can be improved, in the middle of buffet while taking food my table was cleaned and prepare for the next guest! Only positive side was the Masala chai at the end of buffet, that was fantastic! I hope I would have had it again!

I hate to leave such a bad review but the tandoori shrimp today were absolutely heinous. It tasted 2 days old, had little to no char, and were under a pile of watery broccoli and cabbage threads. It was a pile of soupy, watery, vegetables with a few cold, leathery shrimp thrown in. I was really looking forward to the dish so I ordered from another place. The difference is insane. People’s is left, other restaurant is right.
I’ve had their tandoori before and it was devine. The other dishes we got were also lovely. But we ordered the tandoori shrimp for a reason and it was truly inedible.
I hate to leave such a bad review because the people who run it are lovely, the food is otherwise amazing, but this was unacceptable.
