The food has really declined in the past year. Tough Stringy chicken and soggy rice not to mention watered down sauce. Unfortunately will not be returning. The chicken looks like a pre breaded frozen product we used in a kitchen I worked for. It was almost identical in texture and flavor.

The crab rangoons were some of the best I’ve had, the California roll was okay, the tempura shrimp roll was meh, and the miso soup was so so. The chicken lo mein was pretty good. The service left a lot to be desired. We had to ask multiple times for items we’d ordered that didn’t come with the rest of our meal and at the end when the server took our credit card, he disappeared, then came back and started clearing tables, then went to the kitchen multiple times. Eventually a lady brought the card back. Having someone take your card and vanish isn’t the best feeling. I’d maybe get delivery from here (Depending on what I wanted to order) but won’t dine in again.

Great food! Sushi is a little pricey for how much you get, but it’s really good tasting sushi. Also their Thai dishes are pretty excellent. Only issue I’ve had was their Sushi order completion can be quite a bit slower than it says when you order online. It always says ready in 10 min regardless of how busy they are. Some orders took over 30 minutes to prepare (which is fine) but then it says it will be ready in 10 min.

food and staff has always been awesome 🙂 love love the chicken lettuce cups and crab rangoons! i haven’t ordered it in a while and decided to tonight and noticed the food was almost completely different (nothing wrong just different vegetables/ seasoning/ cuts of meat) and was caught off guard. I called the store to ask if there had been new management etc. just out of curiosity i explained where and what i ordered and that there wasn’t many descriptor words and she was SO kind and said there is a new kitchen staff and she would mention it 🙂 very nice even w different food and never had bad costumer service experience here

Our family loves Peony. It’s a great little family business in Newark right off SR 16. The salad is delicious and we can’t get enough. Sushi and General Tzo’s are a favorite order. This is one of those little whole in the wall places that you fall in love. Really great service.

I really like getting Peony bistro for takeout. Mala tofu skin is my favorite. Only complaint is on the sautéed celery with dried tofu slices. I have ordered this dish three times. The first time it came with dried tofu and was really delicious. The other two times it has come with fried tofu… and it really changes the taste and flavor of the dish. If it was always served with dried tofu like it is listed on the menu, it would be one of my favorites. Dried tofu and fried tofu are not the same. Pictures of celery with the fried tofu, and then my favorite- the mala tofu skin.

First visit but certainly not the last. Welcoming staff, quick service and lengthy menu. Hot and sour soup one of the best I’ve ever had, chock full of veggies and tofu, and robust beef flavors. Couldn’t resist egg rolls and they were perfectly fried and loaded with veggies. Main dish, sesame chicken, delicious, fresh tasting and generous serving.
No plastic glasses here as seems par for the course at a lot of restaurants- it’s the little things that’ll make or break.
