I have celiac disease and we stayed in canyon city this last weekend, during our weekend we headed to desert reef hot springs and then found Penrose pizza – they have GF pizza (which is INSANELY delicious by the way) and take the proper precautions to mitigate cross contamination in the cooking environment.

If you love Neopolitan pizza, this is the place! The garlic twist bread sticks were divine. The pizza was delicious as well. And the Neopolitan sauce was amazzzing!
It’s worth noting that we didn’t get exactly what we ordered as the women who took our order didn’t write it down, (we did a custom pizza and they forgot to add Arugula and sauteed mushrooms, and only half the pizza seemed to have the toppings we requested) but the pizza was yummy regardless.
If I could give the staff 10/10 stars, I would. Everyone was SO friendly and welcoming.

This is the best pizza we as a family have ever had we are recommending to all our friends and family. The artichoke dip with the fresh woodfired bread and chips is amazing even if it’s just a dip your pizza crust it’s so good. I work in Penrose close to the building and smell it all the time that’s why I drug my family down from Pueblo to try it.

We drive from the springs just for this pizza and small town feel. They have friendly staff and delicious sourdough pizza with quality toppings and even a vegan cheese option. Beers are $3-5 too. Makes for the perfect date night especially paired with the local hot spring!

The pizza was delicious and the cocktail’s were great! I really enjoyed our time here. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It’s also a great place to watch the games as well. We are looking forward to returning and trying some of the other items on the menu

Cannot stress enough how good this place is. The pizza is fantastic, the service was great, even the basic burger was stellar! The atmosphere was great for a family meal, but they also had the Broncos game on a huge TV. Truly a great find that we will be coming back to every chance we get.

I ordered and loved the Seared Shishito Peppers and the Chupacabra pizza. I thought both were amazing. For me it’s a five stars on the food, no doubt! Service isn’t the fastest but that’s okay because the wait staff were very friendly and I think the food was totally worth the wait

The service was great, very friendly and kept checking on us. The food took a while to come out because of online orders. We got the spinach artichoke dip and it was very light on artichokes and a little flavorless. When the pizza did come out it appeared our toppings had all slid into the middle of the pizza. Leaving some bites heavy it toppings and other bites pretty bland. May have just been an off night.

The staff was very friendly and agreeable. They cleaned up the place alot (previously a dive bar), remodeled, and really made it all shine. They did have a bar but there were still families with kids which made it nice for our little group as well.
We ordered two medium pizzas, one with just sausage for the kids and one “Supreme” . They had really good SUPER thin cracker crust which was good (although not what we are used to). The sauce was SUPER DELICIOUS and honestly the best part of the pizza. We felt the toppings were fairly sparse, having been shaved super thing (most likely for quicker cooking time and due to the super thin crust which wouldn’t withstand very much).
We also felt for the price,the size of their “mediums” (no smalls offered), and the lack of toppings that it was a bit lacking. My toddler, 11 year old, husband and I polished off both pizzas and were lefting a little wanting (still hungry).
They may be still working out the kinks because we did have a couple issues with the checks and the other couple we went with got the wrong pizza. THEY DID CORRECT IT and were very nice about it.
Over all it was a decent experience.

I placed a to go order for 7 large pies for a local event and the team was amazing. Everything came out as ordered, and Kyler awesome to work with and super thoughtful! Unfortunately I didn’t eat any of it at the event so HAD to go back.

Wow, the friend mushrooms were incredible. Mushroom to crust ratio was actually perfect and the homemade garlic fusion sauce is literally what dreams are made of!
The Spicy Jalapeño pizza was the main and let me tell you, genuinely one of the best pies I’ve had in Colorado, the pie came out how everyone should want it, crispy bottom, medium flop, and flawless toppings ratio. Will go back next time I’m in the area!
