I travel 45 minutes every few months just to eat here! The atmosphere is relaxing and like walking into an old school diner! The only exception is it is a paperless menu. The food is delicious every time! And the gentleman that is always there taking orders, cooking food, and bussing tables is friendly and knowledgeable.

Food was ok. Tables were dirty, trash on the floor. We should have left but we gave it a try. Waitress was rude! Started with having our straws thrown at us. She seemed upset that she had to wait on us. When we told her thank you we were returned with a eye roll and a “sure”. We have children, when we asked for extra sauce we were informed she had already gave our son his. My daughter wanted some sauce with her chicken strips and was treated like it was a burden. She slammed the container on the counter with another sigh of irritation. There was absolutely no good customer service with her. I’m pretty sure we were overcharged. From our first time and last time experience this is not a good place to eat and you are treated poorly.

Pennys is exactly what it looks like, an
Old fashioned dinner. Burgers, fries, breakfasty stuff like eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy. It’s all pretty tasty stuff. The staff are a wonderful collection of locals who are hometown friendly. The prices are good and the parking is easy. It’s open 24/7 folks in a small town that’s rare. Overall it’s a win for burgers and fries at 3AM.

Should have walked out, dirty entry, dirty table. Rude waitress. Screwed up order, then fixed it like she was trying to get fired. Pretty sure I was overcharged. Never left a bad review on Google before, but couldn’t not leave this.

With Kansas humidity, the salt shaker needed some rice in it. We were told the last employee who did that almost was fired because “it’s not our brand”. Corporate needs to understand that what works in one state may not work in another. Same with menus. Older folks may not know how or want to access the menu via QR code. Personally, I prefer to have a menu in my hand.
Our chef/waiter did a great job, food was very good.

Horrible experience. I am a food safety expert and this place was filthy! Also water was running down from the AC vents. It took for ever to get out good. The food had no flavor! Use some seasoning! The cook changed gloves several times but touched everything in between. Totally gross! Do yourself a favor and go to the Casey’s down the street it would be better!

* I told the server that I needed silverware when she brought my coffee. Ah-huh is all she said…no silverware
* table by restroom had a bowl of open frozen fries and a stack of 3 bags. They were untouched before we arrived. One employee told the other to put them back in the box and into the freezer, about 10 min before we left.
* entire bag of chicken tenders and tub of? Was out most of the time also.
* dirty table cleaning rag and spray bottle we’re hanging a foot away from a counter seat, 2 floor signs tweet there too.. one was filthy
* when the employee put the fries away, she left a bag in the floor. I was looking for the restroom, stepped on the bag and slid(no injuries)
* we ordered 2 burgers, one was in the counter waiting for the other…a staff friend came in after us yet got his burger before us..as 1 of our 2 buns sat empty on the counter

I read the reviews and decided to give them a try……won’t do that again. Waited an hour for half of our food and 10 min more for the rest. There was 6 of us but still. They only checked on us once. My food tasted good but my husband had a hair on his plate. I never write reviews but I was very disappointed!
