Located on a corner, 4065 Penn Ave, a new hip but classic pizza joint called PAPS (Penn Ave Pizza and Steaks), and let me tell you — When I walked in, I was blown away.
The vibe and design of the shop instantly reminded me of an old-school Brooklyn, New York pizza shop, with the finishing details to come, I had immediately said to myself “Oh, this is gonna be good.”
Immediately taking a quick look at the (unfortunately non-pictured) pizza in the display, I knew I had to try a few things. As a traditional NY-style cheese pizza guy, I of course got a classic slice — my forever go-to. But I stepped outside my comfort zone and also tried a slice of pepperoni with fresh crumbled sausage and a slice of artichoke and spinach white pizza. And of course, as a snack to go along with my wait, I grabbed garlic knots and some meatballs — man these were fantastic.
HOWEVER, i just so happen to also get an Italian sub and MAN, it was my absolute favorite.
Italian sub is made on freshly baked homemade 8- to 10-inch sesame seed bread. It was layered with top-quality meats like mortadella, prosciutto cotto, salami, and provolone, topped with Italian dressing, salt, pepper, and lettuce (with regret, I skipped the tomato and onion). It was absolutely delicious and perfectly layered.
The passion and motivation they put into making a top-quality product showed in every detail.
During my wait, I had the chance to sit down and talk with the owners about their long-term vision, and let me tell you — this place is going to be a cool hangout. The vibe felt like 80- 90s movie where everyone went to a diner for burgers and milkshakes… but this time, it’s 2026 and it’s pizza and Italian sodas!!
Pizza night just got a whole lot better !!!
Welcome, PAPS — the city welcomes you!!!
it’s the perfect spot to to grab a quick delicious bite of food.
