What a gem! My husband and I were in our way back to Virginia and found this place on Google maps. They have a buffer and main menu options. We went with the latter and it was so good! We had a Reuben sandwich and Deep fried Shrimps. You had an access to the salad bar ordering an Entree and it is BIG! A huge variety of veggies, dressings, beans & pickled vegetables. We loved the Swiss room on a sunny day.

Atmosphere is 1 star because my order was To Go; I did not eat in the restaurant.

Tremendously disappointed….

I called ahead for a pick-up order.
3 kids hamburgers with fries.
2 regular (adult) cheeseburgers with fries.

The exchange on the phone when I placed my order was as follows:
Me: “Three kids burgers. No cheese on them, please. And two regular cheeseburgers with fries.”
Person taking order: “Okay, sounds good… So cheese on the regular ones… Do you want cheese on the kids?”
Me: ” No; no cheese on the kids burgers”.
PTO: “Okay got it”

And guess how the order came out? All three with cheese.

And thanks for throwing in like, 7 fries.

Going to take a lot for me to try again/come back.

What a great surprise! It is not easy for me to find good soup in USA, but here it is! Great food in good price and very charming place.

Clean nice place parents took me while visiting for my birthday. Grew up in the area but this was the first time eating there. Had the buffet plenty of choices for everyone. Home style cooking.

I had driven by this place once or twice over the years. It’s over 3 hours from my house. Today I made a point to stop for lunch. I had the Reuben. The sauerkraut was delicious. I also ordered oatmeal cake for dessert. YUM!

Have passed this on many occasions and have finally had the opportunity to stop in here – not only once, but twice over a two day period. The food and service were excellent. We had to come back.

For lunch I had the cheeseburger. It was made with fresh ground beef, and it was delicious. Also had a side of coleslaw, which was fantastic. Homemade chips were crunchy and hit the spot. It was so good. I had it the second time I came again. I also had the blackberry cobbler, which was excellent! Also great pricing on the menu.

Great service from Rebecca and the rest of the team working here. We brought a large group of nine people on the second time and they quickly and easily accommodated us. Food was out quickly, and it was hot and delicious.

There is also a gift shop in the lobby, but I did not go there. Several people in the group went inside and said it was fun to walk around. Give yourself extra time as you will want to walk around in the Spruce Forest Artisan Village. These artisans are really talented.

So stop by have a great meal, great service and do a little shopping to support your artisans.

Great little restaurant and craft type store all in one. We enjoyed the lunch buffet which was quite expansive and quite good. There is a salad bar section and a hot bar side with a separate dessert section. All the hot food and desserts were good, did not have much of the salad section, but it looked fresh. The service was good and friendly, quickly refilling drinks and removing used plates.

We had passed here many times and it was very crowded. Today, it wasn’t bust. We are so glad we stopped. My wife got the Ruben and homemade chips. Her and the waitress, Diane, called it the Good Lord sandwich. I had the buffet and didn’t leave hungry.
I loved the German veggies soup. The desserts were homemade and very tasty. We look forward to our next visit.

Thus is a wonderful place. The food, atmosphere, and service are all top-notch. If you are in the area, it’s the place to be. I had the Ruben sandwich. I think it’s on their homemade bread. Awesome sandwich. Tender and juice. Their chips are thick, light, and crispy

Penn Alps is one of my favorites! I especially love the atmosphere and my favorite little nook.

Plenty of food options! Hot bar and salad bar is great most of the time. The little plaza it is in also so cute and a vibe!
