Penguin Ed’s Bar-B-Que in Fayetteville is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic southern BBQ. The ribs are tender and flavorful, the pulled-pork sandwiches are juicy, and the brisket melts in your mouth. The portions are generous, the sides are classic and delicious, and the quirky penguin décor adds a fun, unique touch to the dining experience. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and food that truly captures the heart of Arkansas — it’s a BBQ experience you won’t forget. I loved this place, súper recommended. They have delicious cookies and cute t-shirts.

I’ve been to both Fayetteville locations and it’s the same with both. The Brisket is somewhat dry and very salty but good with their BBQ sauce. Pulled pork is pretty good sauced down and their sides are very good. It’s hard to beat their pricing for BBQ in the area so it’s always an option if I’m not willing to be extorted by some of the other places.

Driving through, we discovered this spot for lunch and it turned out to be a gem on this particular trip. Penguin Ed’s had a wide variety of bbq favorites and each of us enjoyed our meals. The Littles had their cheeseburgers, fries, and side salad, and they enjoyed them. Mrs. Flip Out had the Friday special of smoked meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes. It was seriously the best meatloaf she’s ever had; it had great flavor and delicious. I had a 2 meat combo plate with burnt ends and ribs with bbq beans and house fries, a cup of chili. The chili was delicious and I would order it every time. The ribs and burnt ends had excellent flavor. If we lived in the area, this would undoubtedly be one of our go-to restaurants. The service was outstanding! We also shared 2 cookies amongst ourselves, and they were amazing. We had the Nieman Marcus and the Toffee Pecan cookies. Hope you check it out and enjoy it as much as we did!

The pulled pork sandwich is definitely a fan favorite at this spot, and for good reason. Pair it with their creamy mac and their home fries, which come with a delicious twist—these aren’t your standard fries! I love that the same employees are usually there, as it adds a great sense of consistency to the overall experience. The quality of the food and service never disappoints. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. (located conveniently on the corner E Mission and N Crossover) They also have daily specials posted and a great reward system for loyal customers. Plus, all the cute penguins are displayed like a museum—definitely a charming touch that makes the visit even more memorable!

Wow! I brought my mom & my sister (from the River Valley area) for lunch before a doctor’s appointment. Both first timers. They enjoyed their meals, but something else really stood out to me today. I gave the staff a heads up that my mom was handicap & asked if we could use the to go door to come in (since the other side of the restaurant was already full & we needed a table which was closer). The staff personally came up to me & asked before they got there if there were any accommodations they could assist with when she arrived. Furthermore, as we were wrapping things up, the staff said to come by the dessert counter & have them pick a sweet treat on the house. My husband has been a cook over the years in many different restaurants & facilities. I told him about our visit & he agreed that it was nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL service!! From the front counter to the back of the kitchen, a big heartfelt THANK YOU to ALL of your staff!!!! Food is chefs kiss every time & today was no different!

An absolutely outstanding BBQ restaurant!! The inside is super kitschy and the penguin theme is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely phenomenal!! For fans of Carolina style BBQ sauce, theirs is out of this world. Macaroni and cheese is also fantastically creamy and delicious. Very highly recommend!!

Love the bbq but the side portions are not right. If you don’t order a pint , they will give you a 4oz tiny cup for $2.75. I don’t think it is even 4oz and won’t fit one floret of broccoli who wants one piece of broccoli or a tablespoon of beans??
I would suggest making ALL sides at least 8 oz and raising the price a bit, folks will pay for that.

Our family ordered the pulled pork sandwich, rib combo, and kids chicken sandwich. Ribs were tough and hard to get apart, not fall off the bone like I’d have hoped. Pulled meats were ok, but chicken was dry and lacked flavor. Sides stole the show. Amazing green beans, Mac and cheese, baked beans, pasta salad, and potato salad. Sunday right after lunch rush so maybe that’s what affected the quality. Prices were decent. With drinks the three of us ate for around $50.

I like this place for being consistent, the meat is good and the service is great, my only complaint is that I dont always know whats in something, an example is the Nachos, I asked for the brisket nachos and it came with a mountain of onions, had i known that I would have requested them off, they were still good but this is a common issue with several bbq places so I guess thats unfair. Overall a solid place

Great place for reasonably priced BBQ. Staff is friendly and super attentive. The sauces and cookies are homemade and delicious. Try the Mac and cheese and the bbq beans! We got the rib combo with two sides and a Double pulled pork sandwich with home fries.
