The burgers are solid classics—grilled right, seasoned well, and served with the kind of no‑nonsense simplicity you want from an old‑school burger joint. The menu leans into comfort without trying to be fancy, and the sides hit the mark too.
Service is friendly and laid‑back in a good way, matching the eclectic décor and casual energy of the place. If you want a straightforward burger with character and personality behind the counter, Penelope’s delivers. No fuss, just good food in a place with genuine local flavor.
The food was delicious; my husband ordered the elk burger, and I had the taco salad. Both were really tasty… we’d definitely come back!
The pizza burger, my husband enjoyed but it was a LOT! Two single serve pizzas for the bun!
Definitely went all in for the Halloween season when we arrived. And as a goblin myself, it feels a lot like home with it. You have to do a walk-up and order your meals like a premium fast-food joint, and they usually come out for you in a timely manner. Sadly it was too loud to hear our number called out, but the food is good no less.
They were doing renovations in the next room, so a good portion of the dining room smelled like paint and sort of ruined our experience this time, but we will give it a go another visit down the road.
My wife and I ordered two burgers, which already felt a bit expensive. Then I decided to try the Green Chile, Elk, and Bison meats with gluten free buns. That bumped up the price even more. That said, the flavor was incredible. The flavor of the bison burger was better than the elk in my opinion.
Definitely worth trying at least once!
